I think I'd go with Johnson. Jar Jar Abrams is a f**king hack with his one trick mystery box and endless regurgitation of previous films. By his own admission he's only good at starting stories and not so great at finishing them. See: Lost, the Star Trek reboot series and The Force Awakens.

Talk about Giant Douche and Turd Sandwich, I actually didn't mind the TFA on first viewing, even on second but the more you watch it the worse it gets. I disliked TLJ first time i watched it and i went along a second time with a friend who hadn't seen it yet and i walked about knowing i truly hated the movie. JJ is a massive hack, Johnson is probably the better film maker. I like Looper and Knives out is supposed to be quite good. Honestly If Johnson didn't write the script i would probably go for him.

The problem with Rey is that Disney were so obsessed with her being a strong female character they forgot to make her interesting and that's not changing in Ep 9.

Comparing Rey's journey to Luke's is lol, it's not even comparable.

At least this is the end of it and they can start fresh with new trilogies/tv series.

If I HAD to choose someone to do all 3 I would lean to JJ, only because removing TLJ and replacing it would be the easiest way to get a cleaner narrative going.

If we could go back in time and start again I'd probably lean towards Johnson despite TLJ.

TBH I thought it was pretty meh... waaaay too much fan service.

I don’t want to give any spoilers but I will say they answer all the lingering questions... and I guess it does answer why Rey is so strong.

I f**king picked it in a thread going way back to TFA...

but to me it’s almost as if they were trying to tie up issues made by TLJ half the time.

I think it’s very clear they needed 1 writer/director fir the entire trilogy... this whole trilogy to me seemed like one of those games we played as a kid where you folded a paper in three and three different people drew each section of a character... just ended up with something a off...

anyway... I’ll sleep on it and see how I feel about it 2moro

The only reason why they made these new Star Wars films was to recoup the 5 billion dollars paid to George Lucas, that’s why you just had a Star Wars trilogy that made no sense as if they were meant to be watched individually the only good about the films was to pay homeage to the originally trilogy..

The culmination of a 9 part series of films should have been an Avengers: Endgame level event. Instead it'll be on par with Captain Marvel, that movie people only went to see because they thought it would was "must see" viewing for Endgame.

There was less ripping apart an argument as much as there was oddly ranting about genitals.

The character would be just as bland regardless of gender and showed an unrealistic appitude for several abilities without earning them.

The character was just really poorly written.

However, Mary Sue is a term used to coin such a character if it's female and she fits a lot of characteristics of a Mary Sue. I doubt there will ever be a true Mary Sue as originally coined, but she sails pretty close to the wind thanks to Disney.
