The problem is you can't always spread the ball to the wing in union without risking a turn over... So they really have to go looking for the ball.

Hawkes Bays schools (Te Aute , Napier , Hastings , Lindesfarne ) are some of the best rugby schools in NZ .
So as the Taranaki schools(New Plymouths Boys) , Manuwatu (Palmerston Norths Boys, Hato Paora) and Bay Of Plenty schools (Rotorua Boys , Western Heights , Tauranga Boys )
But most of those kids end up in University or club rugby in the big cities .

and the funny thing with otago going real bad last year in the npc and unable to make up their team with local players (ie. a lot more draft players this season) is because they couldn't poach the players for the university. haha get over it make your own team from local players.
