I don't think it's a hating NZ thing. The Kiwis haven't played for 3 years. The allure of SOO is just greater. Better money, more exposure, more games, I can see why anyone would go for it. The NZRL can do all they want, but there's not much of a carrot for them to dangle.

I can almost understand the logic of just wanting to play SOO (if you're a complete and utter miserable coward who should never be allowed to enter NZ again) but the even bigger issue is everyone else who qualifies wanting to play for one of the Pacific nations as well. Hell, Mulitalo would rather play for the USA than NZ. There's many different flavours of "anyone but NZ".

Olakau’atu is interesting, most damaging forward in the game at the moment, would be right on NSW radar but has declared himself for Tonga

When I gave a shit (when there was no other midweek sport and one weekend game of rugby and league a week on tv) I always supported NSW as I was Laurie Daley fan. IIRC my school was pretty split down the middle.

Now I spit on both of them and indeed this thread inside the NZ section of this place. I'm so disgusted I'm going to go for a walk now and kick the first NSWelshman and Queenslanders I see in the shins.
