Agreed, and simply because relative to the Ashes and World Cup this ODI series vs the Windies is pretty irrelevant so I'd be giving people like Steve Smith, Dan Christian and even Tom Cooper, Aaron Finch or Mitch Marsh a run

Smith at this stage is a good bat at state level having played a couple of good innings. It probably says more about the level of Sydney grade cricket.

Well after his ton's in first grade he's chipped in with 90 odd in a one dayer against South Australia and then smacked a ton against your lot. I'd say it's just that Smith is a very good batsmen, no matter what the level.

Smith batting is more than enough to get him into the team. Hes been our best OD batter and you could say our best FC one.

Heard on the radio this morning he's been called up into the Australian ODI side for the last match

So after this snide little dig at seemingly both Smith and Sydney Grade Smith went and hit 3 more first class centuries, finished the year with 4 centuries and an average of 77 (that 4 centuries is one less than C White has hit in his entire sheffield shield career).
