If this is on the mark I'd say Hinchy must be as good as gone in '09 - unless Costigan goes home and the likes of Chalk ends up getting cut, which may leave a spot in the back row/backup hooker for him.

Flanagan is a much better prospect than little Woolford, but it certainly puts a question mark over Withers.

Interesting.

Will wait until its offical before i get excited, but if its on the money... good signing, could be very vital for our 08 season

and imo would spell the end of hinchcliffe

If you guys get Flanagan he will be the starting hooker. Only a coach with the nous of Royce Simmons wouldn't see it this way.

Flanagan is going to be quite easily one of the best hookers in the comp behind Farah, Smith and Buderus.

When Farah was injured/unavailable, Flanagan was usually first choice ahead of DeGois.

DeGois has gone on to be a good quality hooker himself for the Sharks. Flano is already better than him.

Hinchy and Linc won't be wearing a 9 on their back next uear if you get Flano and he stays healthy.

Possibly one of the best buys any team could make, is snagging Flano.

Got any more chain smoking fat slow old props that you don't want? Plonk him at the doorstep so we can do another magical Tigers swap

Hey Ronnie what's your source on the Flanagan signing, and I hope it isn't BBQ or Tomato this time?

Hope this is true.

Seems to make some more sense of the Woolford signing, too. I am sure Bay will apologise for his lack of faith in management if the signing comes off.

There would be a few questions to ask/answer before any "apology" as you call it would be forthcoming of which the most important would be whether management knew about this possible future signing.

Btw good possible signing ... reading between the lines it would seem that Flaners is a country boy at heart and that Canberra is closer to home.

It's a big if - I would like to see confirmation, too.

But these negotiations normally take months, and contracts are often signed a long time before an announcement is madein any public forum.

It would seem to fit with Woolford being let go, anyway.

I've only ever posted one other piece of mail & that was Ben Cross to Newcastle last June.

This source is accurate.

Well, if that's true, I would be deeply embarrased if I had gone on a rant about the retention policy without any real idea of what was going on behind the scenes.....

Yeah, me too. Humble Pie doesnt taste too good and usually interferes with my rantings and perception of certain policies and personalities at the club :sarcasm:
