Hindsight is a bitch, I thought he f**ked it big time, giving Brady a minute to play with. But dropped passes from his receivers in that final minute didn't help proceedings

A game of ifs and buts.... If welker catches with 4 mins to go the could be over and if branch caught the ball in the final deive he probs get inside the 40 or 30 with 40 secs left and a timeout.... Gronk being less than 50% was a massive factor aswell

In the end well done to the Giants and hopefully the pats can bounce back

I thought Bradshaw made the correct play in scoring the TD. It was a tough spot - but a FG in those clutch situations is no certainty.

I agree. I could not believe what the commentators were suggesting. If Billy Cundiff was watching I reckon he would agree as well. No way did the Pats hand it to him either as was also suggested. Scoring the TD was the correct play and the Giants defence was up to it. As they have been for the entire second half of the season. It was a great drive by eli and it deserved a TD. A two-point conversion would have been icing, but the TD won them the superbowl on it's own.

IMO that 5 yard penalty against NE for offside when NY were in their 20 yard area at 3rd and 7 was massive. It was an incomplete pass and NY would have had to kick.
As it was, they were 3rd and 2 and they rushed for the 1st down and thats all she wrote.

Poor Tynes was probably dreaming about all the b!tches he was going to bag after kicking a superbowl winning FG.

Not to be...

NBC should get the rights to the Super Bowl every year, Al Michaels is the only man that can do the game justice

Enjoyed the game. I got the Super Bowl winner / MVP double like I am sure many did who went the Giants. NE and Brady had this one in the bag if not for a couple errant passes from Brady. A TD when leading 17-15, they win this IMO. I sighted Gronkowski not being a 100% as sealing my pick for the Giants, he wasn't himself and the Pats offense took on a new shape.

Eli Manning. Elite. HOF lock. Well done Eli, really happy for him and Coach Coughlin who also secured his HOF entry.

Manning is a good chance at making the HOF. May be not first ballot. He is young and has a real chance of more SB wins in the future.

Coughlin I am not so sure about though.

Coughlin one of thirteen NFL coaches with multiple Super Bowl wins. Parcells wasn't first ballot, Coughlin may not be either though he will get his jacket.

As for Eli, I cannot believe this is even debatable now. Two Super Bowl wins, two Super Bowl MVP's (only Joe Montana has more), seven straight away play off wins and he still has a shot at more titles. Eli is going to Canton and I'd have him first ballot based on his output already. Anything on top is icing on the cake.

Another great SB in the end. 2 elite QB's going head to head.

I thought those penalties from Boothe had stuffed it for Giants, but in some ways the Patriots choked with those drops at the end.

Well done to the Giants, Eli was outstanding. Giants got enough out the running game early to take pressure off.

Really strange to see the Patriots so disorganised at the start with the 12 man thing.

Wonder if the Giants 12 man thing at the end was intentional? Sure helped burn a few seconds off the clock, for just 5 yds lost.

I initially thought Chip was just in the moment when he called Eli a HOF lock... but he makes a good point

his post season record is impressive, he's done a lot of it on the road, he's 100% for SB wins and superb owl (sic) MVPs, and his two rings have come over a bloke who might go down as the GOAT

its a fairly impressive resume. Its not beyond the realms of possibilities that Eli ends up with more or equal rings than Brady

If the Giants can keep their D-line more or less intact, they'll always be in the mix.

Can I just lol@the jets one more time. Giants little brother? LOL @ JETS!!

Eli...if he keeps this crew of WR's together...gets a nice athletic TE in the draft and a good #2 back when they get rid of Jacobs...try stopping them then.

He'll be a HOF lock. He may not be now despite the rings...but consistent play the next 5 years...ring or not...and he's a lock.

Just watched the game then, notes

*as i thought, the Pats D crumbled, yeah they werent too bad as i first thought, but still wasn't enough.

* really bad clutch drops by the the Pats receivers, man they were huge

* considering the amount of time the Giants had the ball, im astonished they were potentially one play of loosing

* Eli is the better Manning as i have always thought

* Giants faultless, 0 turnovers, amazing, they plaayed the perfect game

Well done NY, i hate you guys with a passion ( both Giants and Jets, and Yankees, Rangers and Mets) but deserved the win, bring on 2013!

agreed on the drops by Pats WR's

Welker's was a huge play not made... I agree with chip, Gronk being barely being able to run was a huge factor. The Giants being able to cover him adequately one on one was a huge factor.

yep, agree, but the telling factor is 0 turnovers for the giants, you're never going to beat a team with 0, however the pats still came close to doing it which is aa good effort.

Time of posssion was huge too, the Giants done this in 1990 against the bills and limited their attacking game
