Huddersfield have signed 17yo Gregg McNally from Whitehaven. Just about every club in the league has declared interest in him at some point and he is the current England Academy scrum half, so a decent coup for the Giants.

He will stay at Whitehaven on loan in 2009, a good idea, he will get game time and hopefully progress.

Ben Vaeau now not joining Celtic. They are apparently giving a trial to PNG star Jason Chan.

Todd Carney now no longer joining Huddersfield - they've had his visa refused and he cannot get into the country.

Two World Cup players get a run. Hull FC have signed Sam Moa, while Jason Chan joins Celtic.

Disagree, there are only two or three imports who I would raise an eyebrow at, the rest are respected players who will add a lot to the league.

Garbage imports like Korkidas have just about been cut out, thankfully.

There are players who although run of the mill in the NRL actually thrive in the SL. By the same virtue there are also some NRL "thoroughbreds" who were dire in the SL. People who slate clubs for bringing in NRL also rans don't see the big picture. They only see what that player did in the NRL, which is all they can go on really but they should reserve judgement until said player has flopped. Hull have had their fair share of Aussies who were Kangaroos and failed to make much of an impression over here.

That's absolutely correct. NRL and Superleague have two very different playing styles, and while one form of the game mightn't be a particular player's forte, they might carve up the opposition in the other.

I'm very much a supporter of reducing the number of imports over time, and taking away the back-doors (ie European passports) that have allowed so many to not be included on a particular club's quota.

Bradford sign Greg Bird! Confirmed on their website. No idea when he's coming or if his visa has been approved.

Wigan have signed Amos Roberts too, but can't officially announce it until Carmont receives his Samoan passport.

Wigan finally confirm the Roberts signing, I would imagine that's the last of the player movement for this year.

James Stosic, the sort of overseas player we should not be bringing to super league, 50 NRL games in 4 years, unless he is injury prone that suggests he just isnt good enough.

Stosic played all bar five games last year and the Titans fans are gutted to see hi leave!
