Can someone remind how relegation/promotion will work next year with IMG? from memory it wont be automatic. So does that mean whoever out of Toulouse/London make it will get a huge leg up in staying in the top grade?

Correct. No automatic relegation. Going to be interesting to see if Toulouse or London can better Wakefield in the licensing roulette to come.
Sadly clubs voted recently not to go to 14 clubs in 2025.

It means that, at the end of the 2024 season, the club finishing bottom of Super League could retain its place if it scores higher in the 20-point system than either a top-flight side or the top team in the second-tier Championship.”

Bradford not close at this point in time. Whilst licensing sounds great in reality it’s incredibly hard for a second division side to score more points than a SL side.

agreed, but at least teams can take a more 'long term' approach to the process and build towards promotion by continued success on the field, and ticking boxes off the field! And hopefully a similar ripple-effect for the cellar dwellars in super league...they can build for sustained growth rather than splashing cash to not get relegated.

London v Toulouse is great. Personally, maybe edging toward wanting London to win as I feel that's the market we need a piece of more. Although Toulouse strengthening French game would be great too How about a draw after full-time and they both get promoted

Kayo seems to have the Championship final as well for those interested. Might get it back for a month for these 2 and the rest of the CWC.

Didn’t excpect Catalans to win but would have been good to have a new champion. Super League hasn’t had a new winner for 20 years now and still only 4 winners, 3 currently in Super League + Bradford.

Interestingly outside of those 4 the remaining clubs are 0-10 in Grand finals (4 Warrington, 2 Catalans, 1 each Castleford, Hull FC, London & Salford, kind of amazing none of the 10 could pull off a win on the day.

No idea why they don’t just shorten the playing field more. I get it makes 10 metres for Defense and 40/20 technically “off” but each team has the same advantages/disadvantages.
