Why would the NRL buy Super League a comp with no plans to expand?
Under the IMG process any team can enter Super League if they get graded an A.

It looks like Toulouse will be promoted to Super League because they have the infrastructure, fans and finances. Heck, Toronoto or Barcelona could too.

It's not so much about expansion as getting the strongest possible clubs in Super League.

Imo thier biggest problem is only 4 teams have ever won, they need to spread out the talent so fans of all clubs feel like they could win, which in turn will lead to more overall support.

Went down south to watch Wigan at London today, 4 players rested but Wigan still put 60 on London. They lack defensive intensity and fitness, which is going to be their main undoing this season really.

Nice little ground in Wimbledon, away end is probably around 2k capacity, maybe a bit more. Only 1 bar though so a few missed kickoff & start of second half. Before the game there was a bar open under the main stand with fans from both sides mingling, hopefully London can stay there long term because it gives them something to build on.

Big win for wire and Leigh, hfc in deep trouble, hkr with a comfortable win at giants and other games going to form.

Nothing to see here

just English expansion at work
as usual with you thats a bit of a myth. In 2019 the Dragons were asked to pay a 500k euro bond due to the previous years lowest ever wembley attendance when they made the final and the RFL lost a lot of money. The dragons refused and eventually a compromise was reached. It was never disclosed what the compromise was or if it rolled on for every year since.

as for the flight cost, thats their choice to charter a plane, plenty of cheap airline flights they could have got.

ps I dont really agree with th etravel costs for other clubs but if thats the only way SL can afford to have French clubs in the comp then its Catalans and Toulouses choice to pay travel and be in, or not to pay and play in the French comp.

Derby time!

craven park has been sold out for weeks and will be rocking as the Robins look to heap more misery on our neighbours.

Cas take on rhinos in the other Yorkshire derby with cas looking for something to kick start their season

finally sts v wigan makes up the last derby of the round. Always a tough battle in front of a packed house as the two top teams go head to head.

got to love Easter weekend!

Round wrap up.
HFC continue their miserable form with a massive home thrashing by Hudds. Another 40 points conceded in one half. Surely Tony Smith is a dead man walking?
In the clash of the heavyweights Dragons beat St helens in the Sth of France to go top of the table, good close battle this one.
In an upset lowly Cas managed to get over the top of a previously strong Salford in a points bonanza
As expected HKR put London to the sword in front of another sold out Craven Park. Poor London look a long way from getting a win.
In another upset of sorts Wolves smashed the Rhinos at Headingly. We could soon see two Smith's looking for new jobs.
And in the first game of the round Wigan hammered local villagers Leigh in a comfortable romp.

Dragons can keep all the money they can make from any French tv deal. Up to them to go and get it.
