England could win it, provided they don't need to kick penalties.
I'm gonna pick the shittest team in the world cup and go for them
California for anywhere from a week to ten days, meet up with best mate + his missus over there for a bit and also hopefully go to yosemite. Last few days of that up in the air as to what to do, maybe grand canyon, maybe more california, maybe denver if I can figure out when a concert that's coming up is on. Then to Chicago, go watch a couple of cubs games, see a cousin over there. Off to Boston for about 4 days, then do a half marathon outside NYC on my birthday, new york for 9-10 days, DC for a few days incl. They Might Be Giants show. Then about a week to kill, have a mate who'll be studying in Atlanta probably go over there (or else meet him somewhere different) and go down to Orlando to see a cousin, then get back to LA and fly home. It'll be filmed and produced here in Nanjing.
Jealous of the US trip by the way. I did a five week trip of the US this time last year. Where are you headed?
Also looked at some places to book. Accomodation is sweet from about Boston through to DC. Chicago not sure whether i'd go hostel or stay with cousin. Yosemite would be able to work out, ditto california.Yosemite is fantastic - don't miss it!
Also, visit a shake shack in NYC or DC - very tasty!
Hit the craft beers and seasonals as well!
As for travelling on your own, it's still english here - after a fashion.
You'll be fine. Just make sure you have your accommodation sorted and the rest will take care of itself.

Mention how impressive it was to get 80k against an out of town team. Throw in night timeslot and people working tomorrow. Heads will explode.Urge to go into the crowd thread and make some glowingly positive remarks about the 80k crowd at the WC qualifier rising...
~10thseptember-20th october seem like the dates. What time of year will it be? Things start to calm down a bit in September when school goes back - the Summer is very busy for travel like anywhere else so it's good to book ahead. If you can crash at a cousins place I'd do it - laundry stop!
I actually found Yosemite a little underwhelming, and I got to see a bear while I was there. Yellowstone destroys it by all accounts.

Meeting went well tonight. Twenty episodes is the likely number, on either Jiangsu network (an audience of 90million) or the local network (only about 20 million).
Now just need to write a treatment for the 18 unwritten episodes.

When are you looking at starting filming sir? After the writing process or racing the clock? Hopefully not!
Not sure yet. They want a treatment for the whole season by the end of the month and then their writing team will take over the plotting and structure. We'll be called in to consult on western matters and to make it funny to the white man.
Filming - if the project is officially picked up - will have to be done in a block. It's against Chinese law to film episodes while a show is already airing for some reason. Will be interesting to see what the boss thinks about letting two of his staff go for a month or two of solid filming
