Wat happen

Work cover wrote to doctor and asked when I could return to full duties. My doctor said never.

Work cover go to my work and say they need to give me permanent modified duties or...

My work are leaning toward the or.

I've tried to get a new job and no one will hire me cos of my back. I can't afford to live of work cover payments.

I feel like driving my car off a cliff right now so comments about me having a "bad day" aren't really appreciated.

Well that sucks. AFAIK they can't sack you because of an injury. I could be wrong though, that's just what I was told when I was going through all that shite with my knee. I assume they can make you redundant though, but at least that comes with a payment...

Call centre jobs aren't that bad..depends who you work for.
Can also pay pretty well...I did one that paid $33 an hour

You've got a fair few years of customer service experience if I remember reading correctly, you could probably get a call centre job.

But still....that sucks sorry 2 hear

iiNet were/are fantastic employers. Pay is not amazing, but great benefits and a pretty cruisy work environment. Salmat call centers go alright too.

Yeah that plays a bit part in being able to handle doing the job.
Centrelink was probably the best call centre I worked in in terms of working conditions, as long as you don't take it too personally when you get bad customers lol.
I got a bit sick of call centre work so studied IT and went with that.

Yeah redundancy is the or. Like you said I'd get a payout. But it'd want to be a big payout. I told them that my surgeon told me I won't ever be able to carry children without being completely bed ridden and I got silence in return. I don't think everyone realised how serious it is.

I'm making an appointment with a lawyer tomorrow. I have no idea what my rights are.

That's probably the best step. At the very least a lawyer can help you get a good payout. Honestly, it seems shitty now but if that's how they treat people with injuries then you don't wanna work there. I was at frigging Coles when I did my knee the second time and apart from being slow they were awesome the whole way. And when I did my back last year First Choice (Coles again, technically) were absolutely supportive of everything. And that's a company that gets a lot of shit and honestly treats us pretty poorly.

Nothing. I have nothing.

You'd be shocked what you actually pick up along the way

I took the attitude of: you are not important to me. I will solve your problem and then you might as well be dead for all the impact you will have on my life.

Not as cold as it sounds.

haha, I kinda felt for some of the people after hearing some of the stories. Genuinely wanted to help or refer them to some sorta social service if they're homeless or domestic violence etc
Of course you also got the f**kwits who just didn't turn up to 10 appointments and wonder why they got cut off

But yeah other call centres it was just solve their problem asap and that's it
