So, wife coming home from Tonga today. I am meant to be at the airport by 8:30. Leave at 7:45. All traffic going fine until I get to Marsh St and I discover the int airport traffic is doing its best impression of peak hour traffic possible. I sit patiently until 8:30 without moving.

Realising I am going to be late I have the brilliant plan to drive to domestic, park there then catch the train to int. Rush rush rush and I make it to int by 8:50. I run through the terminal and aggravate my asthma (first time in years thats happened - props to cold weather and lack of fitness).

I spentd 5 minutes scouring crowds looking for a likely pissed off wife. Then I check the arrivals board.

Plane delayed to land until 9:15

Fuuuuuuuuuuuu.

I was just at the International Airport this morning seeing my brother and dad off to China. That was at 6:00-6:30am though so it was bloody early, hardly any traffic except for 1,000+ lunatic taxi drivers.

Strangely enough, the lunatic taxi drivers were the only ones progressing. I took a leaf out of their book and made several thousand enemies with the general public on my way to domestic :sarcasm:

Lol@Arse. Lost 3-1 at home to Villa. United won 4-1 against Swansea, so all in all, not a bad start to the new season. Just a pity about that penalty miss from Stoke.

Oh, I did kind of the same but I was more adamant with not hitting a pedestrian or clipping another car. I saw a taxi driving with no bumper this morning (Is that even legal?). I parked like literally the second you walk into the international parking.

As much as I love airports and aviation the planning, roads and parking of Sydney airport is absolute rubbish.

One reason I don't mind living in Brisbane is that I can't recall ever experiencing a car park on the way to the airport. I've only been to Sydney airport twice, once on the train, and once in a hire car earlier this year. Sure enough, it was a car park, though not quite as bad as what Drew encountered (thankfully, or we would have missed our plane).

Weekend mornings are well known for Sydney Airport being a taxi traffic jam. They flood the place looking to make a mint and many people take early flights so it's a big issue with Taxi's. Look on their Facebook page or a few news articles and they all mention it.

On the weekday, it's not as bad actually- I went there two weeks ago to pick-up my step-brother from his flight back from Melbourne and it was typical airport traffic. They've put in proposals to fix and develop it but that's a few years away.
