the practical application of a law degree is finding a way to get out of things...

so bm could be a superstar in his field..

i think we may have the next brian alexander on our hands...

i would, as i want the $3,000... but he won't give it to me...

If it's Open University Australia he could probably find someone else's essay on Scribd or something and just reword it.

Not that I would encourage plagiarism or anything.

It's the general attitude.

This is your first semester of study, and you're already copping out of stuff. Law Degrees don't grow on trees. Trust me, I've got one and at times it was a murderous slog.

Top Tier firms, where the money is are ultra competitive and they have ways of finding out information like this before accepting clerks. A failed foundation unit is as good as done in terms of Top Tier prospects in the post GFC world.
I don't doubt for a second that law degrees are a murderous slog. My mate is in the final semester of his one at UNE. I know they're bloody hard. But imho (I'm aware how douchey this will sound) I am brighter than he is. If I work as hard as he has I'll be able to complete it to. I believe 100% if I'm fully dedicated I can get distinctions regularly.

When I finally get to doing law I will work hard. And without going into too much detail, me being in Melbourne will make it so much easier to focus on study.

As for future law firms finding this fail, I guess you can never be certain but this fail won't be on my law degree. It's part of a communication degree.

But if I have a law degree full of distinctions I have faith they won't care about a fail in a different unit 5 years earlier.

Did you see in the news today about the mum who was found not guilty for leaving her kid in the car to die? The lawyer who got her out of that. I yearn to dedicating my life to that sort of work.

Not really. If I'm going to be a lawyer one day I hope to be someone who fights for the good guys....until it gets me a cushy seat in parliament.

It is OUA and I think failing and actually doing it myself next semester would be more honorable than plagiarizing.

Then there is absolutely no excuse for letting something as shit easy as an OUA foundation unit to get the better of you.

When I finally get to doing law I will work hard. And without going into too much detail, me being in Melbourne will make it so much easier to focus on study.

You've yet to display the desire so far, what makes you think studying law will suddenly inspire you to these great heights.

As for future law firms finding this fail, I guess you can never be certain but this fail won't be on my law degree. It's part of a communication degree.

You don't think these people can dig this kind of information up? You don't think they want to make sure their applicants tick all the boxes. The pre-2011 life of Bunniesman on LU might even figure in to their equations. Even if you were just a kid the pathological lying is going to look terrible if they find that information.

But if I have a law degree full of distinctions I have faith they won't care about a fail in a different unit 5 years earlier.

Top tiers take GPAs of 6.0 or above for summer clerkships, and then you have to impress on the job. And it's not even about the quality of your work, as at that level they are guaranteed smart people. They're just as interested in whether or not, as my supervisors put it, 'passing the dickhead test'. You'll need more than regular distinctions to figure on their radar.

Explain that when you are the Clayton Utz interview.

Like I said, ultra competitive. Everything counts. You have no idea just how cutthroat this business is do you?

There's a difference between pathological lying and role playing. That character on LU back then was an intentionally cartoonish character. A pathological person wouldn't have created stories that made the character sound like a wanker. They'd do things like make up shit about dying relatives or something along those lines. And not a cruiser drinking wank from Mosman/Coogee/Coffs.

And about law, I wouldn't need to have a job at a top tier firm rightaway to make me happy. Working at a lesser firm or even in a role like legal aid would be something I'd enjoy.

I will. Next semester.

The tax payer will actually profit from my slightly increased debt. I'll have more to repay.

I can almost 100% guarantee you will be making this same statement again and again over the next few years.

I guarantee that by November 1 when the next semester is finished I will have all 4 units finished just like it was planned all along. And in 2015 I'll either be enrolled into a law degree or the Victorian police academy (that's the other option I'm considering, if you do law as a cop you can get the police to pay for your degree if you commit to X years working as a police prosecutor).

I'm contemplating going back to Uni next year if I don't jet off to some exotic new destination. Figure a year to get my teaching degree is a good investment in my future, given I'll have to come back to Australia full-time someday.

Lionel has no basis of reality. He thinks he's going to cruise into Melbourne, cruise through university, cruise into a job at a law form (where he's going to be a 'lawyer') and then cruise into politics.

For mine this is either the daydreams of an immature fool with no idea of the realities of life or just another troll attempt by an attention seeking idiot.
