Was just thinking about that game the other day, JM.

A similar incident occurred in R1 2003 between Melbourne & Cronulla. The Sharks had one last roll of the dice and managed to earn a scrum feed off the restart, the problem was the full-time siren sounded before they managed to stop the clock. Yet the referee (forget who it was) allowed them to play the scrum, yet Cronulla weren't able to force a result.

I only know this because somebody uploaded the match on YT late last night before it was taken down.

Can understand the frustration, but the Dragons are doing themselves a disservice with the carry on. Just like the Cowboys the previous year.

I think it is the opponent and the venue, where we haven't won in 15 years, that is magnifying the level of butthurt.

this.

watching my team, in my town and seeing them lose like that was cutting..

it honestly felt like losing a semi final..

however, i'm pretty sure most storm fans realised they were gifted the win.. after the match didn't get the normal level of heckling that dragons fans get after a game down here.

even had storm fans offering to buy me a drink...

I've been told in the St George forum that this one is different because there was only 1 ref on the field that night not 2.

There's a reason I almost never post in there. Jubilee Ave may be a madhouse at times, but the people in there generally have some sort of clue about the game. Those who frequent the open Dragons forum are mostly a bunch of morons.

I'm sorry to say that I haven't this hard at a post in a while.

I had to change my planned week to ensure I called in and saw every single st george following customer of mine.
The extra travel and haphazard criss-crossing of the metro area was a very small price to pay.
The simple joy in watching each and every fan of theirs go into apoplectic meltdown is one of life's genuine pleasures.
All I had to say was " How did you see it ? I thought the siren had just sounded." . . . and then stand back and watch the wick fizzle and spark it's final few mm towards the explosives.
While dodgy decisions come and go, it was gold to watch this one play out.

Let's take Storm's last try off them, give them 4 points for the Proctor one (can't remember where it was scored but 4 points is fair regardless) and take 6 points off the Dragons for the Merrin try.

Hm nope, still getting a Storm win.
