From my understanding, his Knights contract was paid in full on time but the third party top ups (which are not guaranteed) were outstanding

Same thing happened to us with Craig Wing. While it was going on, he played like a busted and then he picked up and pissed off to Japan mid contract.

It sucks for the club when 3rd party goes wrong as the cap rules state that the club can't guarantee 3rd party deals and that the players management must sort them out.

Sadly, the end result is that the bloke ends up with the shits because he isn't getting paid and it shows in performance. Regardless of where the actual fault lies.

He had a few good seasons, but he is over-rated as anything. IMO, of course.

He's not elite by any stretch. But he's a talented and very adaptable fullback with excellent support play.

Is he worth $600k? f**k no.

But he's worth $350k+. And he can win you footy games when you need it.

He's an Origin mainstay and a Premiership-winner on big bucks, so I suppose he could be classed as elite.

I just think that sure - he's talented. But he's not nearly as good as his price tag suggests he is.

I've never rated the bloke. He does what I've seen a lot of other fullbacks do and nothing he's done (aside from that intercept) made me sit up and think, "Wow!"
