I tried stopping it...

Agree.

Don't do it mate. Its reinforcing the idea that she's not adequate without big boobs. As butch said, there's health implications too (fixing them up) and in thirty years time, when her body shifts with gravity, they will look worse.

Don't let her do it mate :( If she was born with big boobs, then great. If she isn't, then great. But there's no need for her to change them.

(BTW, I think boob reductions for people with boobs that cause back issues is fine.)

Fair call, but i never understood the argument in bold. I've never met an attractive 50 year old, so them having shitty tattoos or piercings or plastic surgery doesn't really make them look much worse. I get vanity is a thing, but surely that shit goes away when you get ancient.

But if she's happy with what she's got, cool, but if she is happy with that and would be happier with a larger set then cool. Whatever makes you happy. f**k the future you, he can deal with that shit.

Because the only reason anyone ever does it is vanity or body issues

Sounds like JW's missus is doing it for that reason (happy to be corrected on that).

Totally ok for women who have had mastectomy's to do them; its part of their desire to look womanly and I understand the reasoning.

Outside of those two reasons, what would you get a boob job for?

It accentuates the change, and highlights their body in a negative manner I think.

I can think of a few reasons. But I'm completely not in the mood for an in depth discussion with someone who clearly has some kind of moral opposition and I have an essay to do, so I'll just drop it

It has nothing to do with moral opposition. Its not wrong to get breast implants.

I'm suggesting she doesn't need them and is fine without them.

FWIW - The whole 'breast implant' phenomenon has led directly onto this type of plastic surgery being completed by surgeons on increasingly younger women.

There is nothing morally wrong with it. However, there is something very saddening to learn that women in their 20's believe they need to 'enhance' their body to attract men.

Who the f**k let BF start a superthread.

I think it was muzby. It's not all bad: it inspired the Ultrathread and that's infinitely superior.

Boyd's talented he's just a dickhead who only puts in when he feels like it.

And Kurt Gidley is a much bigger problem than Boyd.

Agreed. Boyd only f**ks up by laziness. Gidley is trying and it's hurting us.

Wife just told me she wants to get her tits done

Currently looking for things to sell on ebay

My ex was all about wanting to get a boob job. I liked her perky little handfuls, but wouldn't have objected to her having something bigger.

Wasn't going to be the one to pay for it just so some other merkin could play with them, though.

That's very simple minded. Just to attract men, what?

I you don't like your hair, you get it cut, if you don't like your gut, you work it off, if you don't like your eyebrows, you pluck them, if you don't like bare skin, you get a tattoo. Why not go for surgery to change something about yourself you don't like if you got the cash for it. Hell, if i had money to blow i'd get a nosejob, wouldn't even care.

i remember a discussion i had with a girl i once hooked up with.. somehow a discussion turned to what we didn't like about our respective bodies.. and she said her breasts..

she just missed the breast bus when it was at her stop, and was a small a-cup..

i'm talking just big nipples and that's it..

anyway, she was saying how she wanted to get them done as it was a confidence thing.. she basically explained how it played on her mind, any girl she was ever in contact with she'd feel inferior because they were 'more womanly' than she was..

i didn't think she needed to get them done as she was a great chick and was rather pretty.. something i pointed out to her at the time..

but for her it was a priority to get them done..

don't know if she ever got them done though.. and don't think she'd appreciate a random text after all these years asking after her boobs..

All the reasons you listed above were issues of attractiveness; improvement on oneself because how you were born wasn't satisfactory to your current perception of beauty.

I'm being serious now. With the exception of changing for the purposes of self beautification, what other reason is there?

I find that really discouraging that she felt that way :(

I was going to refrain from posting, but I guess I'll say something.

Plastic surgery achieves wonders. Do people get it just to feel good? Perhaps so. But so what, not my money they're spending.

Look at the other side of it as well, for some people, it greatly increases their self-esteem, their self-confidence and much more.

My cousin, always had small breasts (A cup) and she got surgery done on them, did she get DD's? No, she got them up to a C cup. Just to she could have more confidence in her body and not suffer from self esteem issues as a result of her not being happy with them.

We live in a world where such opportunity is available for us to be able to increase our body image through surgery, for many people, it's been a great benefit. Be it breasts, nose jobs, tummy tucks or more. Plastic surgery also achieves wonders for people who have medical conditions or have suffered traumatic injuries - in improving their look, again, improving their self confidence and self esteem.

Heck, the surgery I had on my chest is technically considered "cosmetic" surgery and I've never been happier since I got it done.

lol look at what I started

The missus has always had small but nice boobs but since the kids came along they have shrunk and gone a bit misshapen. Im cool with them as is but she doesnt feel as feminine anymore and just wants them back to where they were pre babies

Even if I was against it, I would support her choice any way cause I have no idea how it feels to have your body shape changed so dramatically due to being pregnant.

I doubt we could afford it anyway but it would be nice do it for her

My point is what is wrong with them in the first place?

Mate, it all changes when you get a kid. My child could've had three arms and she'd still be beautiful to me. Why? Because I love her and she's a person who I value for who they are, not their bodily appearance.

If she went out and got chopped and cut to 'improve' herself I'd feel like I'd failed her as a parent in the knowledge that she did not feel adequately appreciated for who she was and instead derived her identity from her looks.

Heck, the surgery I had on my chest is technically considered "cosmetic" surgery and I've never been happier since I got it done.

To me? Completely different story. Boob jobs v surgery to fix chest cavity is as different as apples and oranges.

And a lovely set of tits you have now too...

I shouldn't laugh, but... :lol::lol:

This bit I get - my wife has gone through it too.

I guess I am distressed for her as there is nothing wrong with her post babies. We place such an emphasis on pre-baby women, that we make post-baby women feel inadequate.

To me, the change is normal and should be embraced, just like I should be embraced when I'm 50-odd and balding :sarcasm:
