Got a bit of a pickle.

My contract in China ends September 28th.

I've got a wedding to attend in Australia from the 15th to the 30th of August (inclusive of travel time and bachelor party shenanigans).

My options are to travel back to Oz for 2-3 weeks, come back to China for 3-4 weeks, and then leave (for Australia).

Or, I can wrap up my contract in mid August. I'd lose a month's pay, but wouldn't have to fly back and forth. 1 flight instead of 3.

I'd always intended to go back to Oz for a few months so I could be home for Christmas etc, but being home from August until January is a bit more than I'd anticipated. October to January seemed much more doable.

Go back and forth mate. You'll miss China when you come back for good, so come back home for the wedding and bucks, go back for a month, finish properly, say your goodbyes etc... and then head off. Plus you get more money in the bank! An extra 2 flights isn't all that bad.

so one of the three chicks was really a he?

i've got my money on it being michigan.

Nah, she came 'round on Monday night. No way she's a pickle.

Maybe New Jersey, though. She's rather buff.

I thought about it, but I was planning to leave China for good after I finished anyway. I'm not interested in spending more time here (I don't think) and there are more exciting and exotic places for me to go.

If you don't want to spend anymore time there, then the choice should be easy.

I'm pretty sure Drew was referring to Inner City SYDNEY.

Yes and you mentioned me moving to Melbourne like I'd be missing out on inner city life.

Melbourne's inner city is where it's biggest advantage over Sydney is.

The culture and community feeling felt in Brunswick and Carlton and Richmond shits on the sorry excuse for an inner city that Sydney has.

you smelly hipster

I know. And I love it. How low I have sunk...

Spend a bit of a time at a mates in balmain, when I don't feel like commuting during the week. Geez it'd be nice to have that sort of good, yet not that expensive food on hand all the time.

Well maybe not good, need to reign my eating habits in a bit I think. Still would be nice.

Speaking of hipsters, did a presentation the other day/writing a part of a report on Quinoa at present.

The prices are screwed, but I enjoy the atmosphere and vibe. Eating my own sandwich in the little park nearby was just grand yesterday, and I found a cheap salad bar to dine at today.

There's a limit to it all though.

Given you have never lived, nor worked, in Inner Sydney, I don't think you're quite qualified to answer that dear Hoppity ;-) For all of Melbournes positives, there's something irresistible about Sydney.

Like sunshine

When the weather is as it has been the last couple of weeks there's probably nowhere in the world I'd rather be than the strip of coastline from, say, palm beach to Wollongong, and around the harbour in sydney. Brilliant
