I'm 6 foot exactly, and I'm down to 84kg and can now run 10km in under 45 mins and do over 100 pull ups. Seeing as I was over 100 and couldn't go from couch to kitchen 24 months or so ago I'm claiming bragging rights :p

I'm just gonna stop eating.

Inspiring shit, mate. I'm slowly but surely working my way back to my old running fitness, and hoping to go further.

Back in 2010 I had trained and signed up for a half marathon, only to have my shin splints get to the point that I was told to take 3-4 months off running.

When I started a fortnight ago, sixty seconds of running had me blowing hard.

Long road back, but I've done it before and I'm doing it for myself this time - rather than at the behest of a fitness obsessed girlfriend.

------------

In Misanthrope's Significant Others news, I got a message from a girl I used to work with way back in my Telstra days. Back then, I had a full-time girl and so nothing ever happened.

Turns out she's studying in the 'Dale and wants to hook up from time to time.

Maybe my drought won't be so long after all.

I've been on a fitness rollercoaster these last few years. I'm an inch under 6 foot.

Late 2011 I clipped the 100kg mark for the first time in my life and it spurred me into action. I embarked on a program of running and by the time I got engaged mid 2012 I was just over 87 kilos.

Slowly packed it all back on to the point where I was about 98 kilos 4 months before I was due to get married in 2013. Of course, the threat of impending wedding kicked me into action again and by the time I went down the aisle in November 2013 I was a smidge over 84 kilos.

Went to Hawaii for our honeymoon for the best part of 4 weeks and by the time we got back I was back in the 90's. Haven't been on the scales for a bit but I reckon I'm on or very near the 100kg mark again.

I want to start to train again but starting is the hard part. I know I'll have a month or so of feeling terrible before my body adjusts and I actually get the good feeling out of training again.

Regardless, I will get into it. Eventually. I don't like being at the size that I am and eventually I get sick of it and just hit the gym. It's always been the way with me.
