Really didn't like Birdman. I loved the acting and photography, and especially loved the editing, which was magic. I don't know though, the actual movie itself felt hollow. The blockbuster dream sequence was the worst part of the movie, or any movie I've seen recently. I could feel the wankery oozing off the screen.

leaving you two and your cricket-fuelled sexual tension to one side, back to birdman..

great film, very different to the regular tripe we get dished up by mainstream film these days..

my movie-nerd side loves decent monologues and one-take shots ('children of men' has some great ones) and birdman does this well..

but for those wanting to see it i recommend going whilst it's still at the cinemas.. I feel it will be a different experience on the small screen..

part of what makes it a great experience is how the film sucks you in to it's claustrophobic feel.. In the cinema, you're stuck in there with keaton, and there's no escape..

Uni is exhausting, and I don't mean academically. I'm drinking 3-4 nights a week, and that's manageable. What isn't manageable is all of the 17-21 year olds with their weekly drama. Sweet f**k, it's exhausting negotiating peace treaties between drunk people.

On the plus side, last week at least saw me scoring a wee bit of action out of it.

And now I've met a nice, down to earth Christian girl who I actually like. Damn it.
