Here's a question. I sent my area manager a private email regarding my health on Tuesday. I walk into work today to discover that he has forwarded the email to two open store emails where any staff member can read it. There has to be some kind of breach here doesn't there?

that depends..

did you mark the email as confidential? emails are essentially company property..

and would your health issue have potential to impact upon others which may provide the need to make them aware?


eg..

Dear Boss,

I realise I have contacted Ebola from a recent trip overseas. I have also been working at store X and store Y in the last two days and may have passed it on to others.

Yeah essentially that's how I feel. Whether it's a breach or not (and I could have been more explicit in my phrasing in terms of keeping it in confidence) it's pretty scummy and seems like a bit of a bullying tactic. Which, hey, doesn't affect me so much. I feel I'm justified in giving him a bit of a spray (professionally of course) and maybe just pushing a bit of a complaint through HR so he gets the idea that he doesn't get to push me around

Do it. I would. It's as simple as someone with stupidity as big as this should not be anyones boss. I'd rather be jobless then have someone like that in charge of me.

Interesting. It's 2014, and I just got an email from another African scammer claiming that I'm the 'love of her life' and that her parents were murdered and that she has $3,750,000 waiting for me. You think by now they would've found an alternate form of scamming people.

I strung the last one around for nearly 3 years. I wonder how long I can get this ones high hopes up for :lol:
