Felt pretty gutted about Hughes. Was listening to the radio, Rcihard Glover was almost in tears reading out the text messages. It's just such an unlucky incident, poor bastard.

Alot of people seem to be looking after Sean Abbott, which is good, Feel so bad for him.

This puts all the other sporting stuff in perspective a bit though. So sad. RIP Hughes

Celebrity death sure does bring out the loonies too. Not that LU is in any short supply. Unsure if grief or just crazy.

Had a call from my Mum after Phil Hughes died. She wanted to make sure I was wearing one of the new helmets the news reported (only started wearing a helmet again about 6 weeks ago after someone bowled a beamer at my good eye). I have the cheaper version of the helmet Hughes was wearing. Don't think she was 100% happy about that...

speaking for myself here, but many other fast bowlers have agreed with me on this.

As a fast bowler, everytime you bowl a bouncer, sometimes you just know when it's going to hit the batsmen, and things seem to be in slow motion as you watch the ball career into the batsmen.

This is the one thing I've been thinking of in my mind over and over, all the times this happened when I bowled a bouncer and hit a batsmen and realising that any one of those could have killed the batsmen.

And then hurting for Sean Abbott who will no doubt not only have vivid memories of that ball, but that it will be haunting him, quite literally, by being in slow motion in his mind.

I hope that he is able to overcome this terrible time, but know that it won;'t be swift, nor will it be easy.

From what I've seen from this Ferguson thing, the prosecutor basically didn't even try to prosecute the police officer, I think that's a definite aggravating factor.
