so found out today my little brother has a brain tumour, the size of a duck egg..

spent a fair bit of time with him this evening in hospital - he's doing ok, just worried as f**k about what it means... quite understandably..

strapping myself in for a rather rough ride ahead...

needless to say, managed to relieve the local bottleshop of a few of their highest ABV beers on the way home tonight.....

here's to you, bro.. you'll get thru this.

Shit mate, that's horrible. Sorry to hear about this. I hope it's one of those things detected early that can make for a speedy recovery.

I'm not sure how old your younger bro is, but the younger they are the better they can cope with the treatment and recover.

Thoughts and prayers with you and your family Muz.

I began the arduous task of packing today. A few observations:

- I am taking way too many card games.
- I own more novelty hats than a grown man should.
- I do not own nearly enough stuff that could be considered smart casual.

A pack and move is well on the cards for the Skinner household. Need ramps, big bathrooms, roomy showers.

Shit, bro. That's rough. Sorry to hear. All the best to your brother during this time.

I somewhat understand his pain. Going through a somewhat similar issue. Hope he battles through okay and he comes out a stronger and better person.

It's because she wasn't born here. The sad thing is that most of the foreign-born Aussie players don't get the same media attention the ones born here do. A few got eliminated in round 1 that were foreign born, but the media only likes our locals.

Foreign-born success stories such as Jokic (yes before her career turned sour) and Tomic only get media attention because they go pretty far in tournaments and represent us.

Quite pathetic by the media really.

Every Aussie in my opinion should at least get their scorecard displayed on the sports report during the news.

You could have banged your head on the keyboard 20 times and got a more accurate answer to what you posted.

The reason muzby or anyone else who doesn't watch much tennis would have never heard of her before is because this is the first tournament that she is playing in as an Australian as she has just become an Australian citizen. However because there are different rules between ITF sanctioned tournaments (ie Grand Slams) and WTA sanctioned events (normal tour tournaments such as the ones just played in Brisbane and Sydney), she can represent Australia at the Grand Slams but still has to play under the Croatian flag at normal tour events.

The media likes winners, as long as they are playing as an Australian and winning they will get coverage. The fact Gajdosova was born in Slovakia or Matosevic was born in Bosnia is as relevant as Hewitt being born in Adelaide or Kyrgios in Canberra. They won so they get reported on. Luke Saville and Jordan Thompson barely got mentioned because they lost in straight sets and the same goes for Rodionova and Gavrilova

This is the stupidest f**king piece of shit I've read in a long time.

Terrible news Muz. Here's hoping for the best possible outcome for him.

I wasn't supposed to find out if I'd actually been accepted into my course @ Uni until February 3rd, but just checked my UAC page and turns out I'm in.

Quite the relief given I'm moving there tomorrow...
