That destroys players confidence. So silly. Better to tell him he is there just as back up and likely not to play, than suggest he will and he only gets 1 minute.

Stuart had the right idea but he's just a terrible comunicator. Place needed a clean out, that never goes down well with players who deserve to be cleaned out.

Look at Newcastle. Pathetic culture amongst the playing group has held them back for years. Attempts to clean the place out have been held back by this.

Thats what happens when the club manager is brother to a player.

Yeah. Been that way for years though, they got away with it a bit with Johns playing/Kennedy around leadership wise. Buderus probably helped being around in recent years. Generally though a pretty bad culture.

not heaps different to St George Illawarra under Nathan Brown.

rode to work this morning.. first time in a few weeks..

rather invigorating start to the day... even if somehow the icy wind was able to find a direct path inside my clothing and to my nipples..

Brown didn't have bad culture per se; he simply wasn't able to get them to dig in properly when the game got close and pull out a clutch move.

We lost usually because Barrett, Ryles or our lack of a decent half got in the way.

Senior players changing team selection for a semi final seems like pretty bad culture to me

I never heard that one. What semi final?
08 v Manly. Gasnier and someone didnt want Soward to play. Got their way. Rogers and Hornby in the halves.

and generally the players were very cliquey, got away with anything. Bennett brought them in line big time when he eventually took over.

Genuinely didn't know that one but at that stage it wouldn't surprise me. Gasnier was on the war path due to his lack of $ because of Doust, so was throwing his weight around big time. Brown was on his way out too, so it was likely he just did it to keep peace.

Soward was always a player who could polarise his fellow team mates.

It wasn't just Gasnier. It was also Cooper and Young.
