exam in just over three hours.

I need to get just over a pass to nail a credit. I would like more than that, but hey beggers cant be choosers. But this f**king subject man. Not sure how it will go.

I really missed 2-3 weeks of content because I had 4 major assignments within 12 days of each other - just impossible to keep up with a content based subject in that case. and its worth 60% this exam. I think im on a reasonable mark at this point (at least 30, probably 32 or so/40) but im kind of worried.

BUT in good news. They Might be Giants touring in Novermber. Great live band. Can't wait

Ok, this has to be it. Surely.....suuurreelllyyy....the worst month of my life (as far as everything going wrong at once) is over and things can return to some form of normality.

Bring on the normal, or whatever passes as normal for me.

Hopefully it should be fine from here. Just one of those things where everything happens at once and it puts you on edge a bit waiting for the next thing to go wrong.

1) Variant of shingles/chicken pox activated and attacked my right eye. Needles, laser, 2 weeks in hospital and will still have blurred vision in that eye for probably 3-4 more weeks (on tablets for six months).

2) Didn't tell my parents until a week in hospital because 2 days before they flew to NZ to basically say goodbye to nana who is in a home with dementia and now they've discovered she has cancer.

3) Get out of hospital, turn on computer, power supply blows. fix power supply only to find out SSD drive and disk drive blew with it. Basically had to buy a new system I couldn't afford due to reason 1 effecting the money I could earn during that period.

All up things could have been much worse, but this past month has had that "stop the train, want to get off" feel about it.

I'm sorry to hear that mate :(

Wake me up when this season's over. No fit hookers at the club for the foreseeable future, fullback gone, half the side already playing busted, NRL basically picking the team for us thanks to previous incompetence....give it a few weeks before we have to deadset forfeit a game

All up I'm not in a bad place, it's just frustrating that there's nobody to blame/take out the frustration on. Despite the current vision issues I'm still able to work and lead a normal life while the vision clears, and it should eventually be all fine again (touch wood). As long as I don't have to get any more needles to the eye. f**k that shit.

I went over for my grandmother's 90th and I kind of expected that to be the last time I saw her. It's sad of course, but that's life sometimes.

As for the computer, that's just a pain in the ass. Lol. Especially now that I have to wait longer for the parts. I study photography/video production and spend my other free time hobbying around in various programs like Photoshop/After Effects/Premiere Pro etc so I'm feeling a bit lost at the moment in that regard.

i know just how you feel there mate after some shite experiences this year.. surprisingly i've had a bit of a minor epithany.. both brought on by the experiences themselves and also something i learned at uni this year..

that is - anger and worry end up keeping you in a bad mindset.. some things, events (and some people) just can't be changed.. you have to accept whatever happens and deal with it from there.. call it the chris sandow approach - play what's in front of you.. sounds a little 'airy fairy', i know, but i've found it's the best way of just coping and looking forward..

sometimes it means putting anger aside and appreciating what you have, whilst you have it (and sounds like you've done that for your nanna.. don't mean to call her 'it')..

when you sit back and look at it - life doesn't make sense, the world is a big and nasty place, and shit always seems to go wrong.. but at the same time, no matter how shit something seems at the time, we only remember the good times (and 'edit' the bad times to seem less bad)..

anyway, i'd better put our my incense, uncross my legs, turn off the whale sounds cd and get back to capitalism..

chin up mate, and as twiz said, we're all here for you.. strange how some words on a screen from strangers can help, but somehow, it does..

provided your computer is working at the time, of course.. ;-)

Des Hasler loves to take the piss sometimes. Names his team for the Penrith match with no Origin players selected. Could see someone wearing jersey 25 this weekend

Best one I ever saw was a team list Wayne Bennett came up with for the Dragons vs Manly. Of the team named, only half played in their listed position. Matt Prior ended up playing prop in jersey 3, Matt Cooper was named at lock but was still in the centres, a few of the 20+ jerseys got trotted out, etc. Was with a bloke i knew who followed Manly and he was confused as f**k. But we had Bundy Lounge tickets, got drunk as all hell at WIN Stadium, then went for a huge pub crawl in the Sydney CBD.

Dragons won that game by 40-odd too, great day!

09-10ish?

I remember a match like that, and my Manly and Dragon friends were drunk and bet like 3 bucks per point the other team won by. My manly friend had to pay up $100+ that night, was great seeing his face crumble with each try.

i know how your eye would feel, well kinda. I developed an ulcer on the middle of my eyeball a few months ago. Eye was blurred for a week, had to see a specialist every two days, was on a few different eye drops. It was painful as f**k.
