I bought a new 55" 4K 3D tv from LG, and it is awesome. The picture quality shits all over the Kogan tv I bought (which, incidentally, stopped working).

Does anybody get off a train and think to themselves "hey you know what would be great, to sign up for a charity right now"

I'm all for giving back, etc, but I personally hate being ambushed and I can't imagine that anybody enjoys it.

Oh, man - I used to do that for a living.

Worst. Job. Ever.

I can't remember the last time I caught the train? Maybe 95?

I love trains.

I had to go into the City the other day to drop off my passport for my visa issuance and get my fingerprints done (US policy). There's nothing I hate more than catching the train. It's painful.

Also, there were those damn skateboarders all over Martin Place! The "he-who-must-not-be-named" was right, they are a pain!

I recently got Kogan 32" off eBay for the bedroom with a built in DVD player and the usb input plays any type of movie file. I dont even bother plugging the areal in as FTA is crap anyway.

Amazing value when you look around for $230.

i often find myself hopping off a train, and being encumbered with excess spare change and cigarettes, bit disappointed that nobody sitting on the ground near the station entrance ever asks me for either..

Blasphemer! The trains are wonderful even when they're late!

They're great value, and for the first 12 months, I was stoked - a 55", 4K HD, 3D tv for $999? That's a steal!

But it stopped working, was going to cost a bit to fix, and I saw the LG in a JB Hifi ad, and I haven't looked back - my new LG tv makes old sitcoms look like documentaries.

I was playing The Witcher 3 on PS4 on it, and it looks unreal.

I can't speak highly enough of LG tbh.

I'm having cream instead of milk in my coffee. not bad.

I also quite like trains. Great way to travel overseas. My frustrations though are timetable related. Especially with alot of night uni, with only one train back to the gong an hour miss one it means hanging aorund central for an hour. stuff that.

UNSW is a bit of a crappy spot either way. Drive can be quick the right time of day, but you still end up walking 20 odd minutes from car to uni. Train is quick but the bus change over makes it a much longer trip.

Trains at least allow me to do some uni work though. Commuting by car is dead time.

The thing with train travel is that the quality of a train trip can vary so much from one day to the next.

Some days, you get on a train and its a pleasure. The train is one of the newer ones and the heating / aircon is working perfectly so it's quite nice inside. The train isn't packed out so you get a decent seat and everything runs to time. You get off the train and think "this isn't that bad at all".

Another day, you get on the train and it's one of the older ones. The heating / aircon doesn't work so it's like your either trapped in an oven or a fridge. The train is packed so you have to stand for the entire journey and that strange metallic smell and accompanying splashing sound that you notice is actually the result of a homeless guy taking a wiz in the corner.

Those are the days that have you questioning your choice of transport.

Coming from Wollongong, other than the 7am train, there's usually more seats than people and it isn't too bad.

I'll never forget the day I got on a train from Parramatta to the city and a guy was having a slash in the corner. Worst part was that he got off at a later stop and as we got closer to the city, people were piling into the cabin and standing in the piss.

Myself and several others were warning people as they got in but with the combination of people being on "auto pilot" in the morning, the sheer volume of people getting on the train and the fact that the cabin was packed, invariably people ended up walking through and even standing in the puddle. Of course, the motion of the train was spreading the pee around as well.

Of course, you see plenty of fights and arguments as well over time.

The bad thing is that when you work in the city and your choice is to catch the train or pay $25 / day to park somewhere, you pretty much have to catch the train.

Lucky for me, I've moved up the ranks enough to be provided a spot nowadays so I don't have to make that choice anymore.
