It's not an attack. He has all his limbs. It got caught in his ankle rope for a second. It wasn't even a test bite, there was no biting whatsoever

It would still scare the shit out of you. But yeah, if it was hungry & thought Mick was breakfast the ending would have been much different.

He doesn't need to teeth to attack some one, what did you think it was, maybe he was just trying to shake hands

Why did he bite through the leg rope if it wasn't an attack ?

The way the worlds gone mad these days I expected a ''surfer assaults shark '' headline.

Well he went back for a second go, he was 3.5 metres according to some so called expert and they grow to 5 metres so maybe he was a bit inexperienced.

When surfers wear a full wetsuit they get mistaken for seals and I dont think sharks play too well with seals.

AMERICAN sport sites were in awe of Fanning and the very “Australian” way in which he handled the frightening situation.

“Fanning was not injured at all, and was cool enough to give us the most Australian quote possible,” wrote SBNation’s Tom Ziller, referring to Fanning’s statement: “I punched him in the back.”

Fansided.com was full of praise for Fanning, describing him as a “badass”.

“One thing is certain from this whole attack — Mick Fanning just became the world’s biggest badass for fighting a shark live on television and winning without suffering injury.”
