Long time since I've posted in here but feeling lonely and need to dump my thoughts somewhere

After 3 years together on a break from my (ex?) girlfriend and looks like things arent going to work :( Never have felt so depressed and broken in my life but need to find ways to start moving on

no good mate, sorry to hear how things are..

life may be low now, but things will come good eventually.. may be tomorrow, may be next week, may be next month.. nobody can say for sure when, but just know that it gets better..

just keep active.. make sure you eat regularly, see your friends, start doing things that don't remind you of her..

even take up something completely new, just to get yourself around new people.. could be a new social sport, join a club of some kind, volunteer somewhere, just get yourself into a new environment and you'll be surprised how this can help..

Thanks for the support guys

I'm starting full time work in 2 weeks time and will be lucky enough to meet 20 odd uni graduates like myself, so that will come at a good time to meet new people.

Will definitely be chasing new activities, hobbies and broadening my social group to help free my mind

I had a five year relationship break down at about the same time in my life as you are at now. I thought I'd never find someone as good but eventually I met my wife and she is better in every single way.

At the time, it seems like the end of the world but believe me when I say that you are in the prime of your life and you have the world at your feet.

It'll hurt for a while and it might take you some time to see that what I say is true but eventually, you'll come out the other side. Could be months or even years before you are ready to date again but eventually you'll get back out there.

Just think that you haven't yet met the Woman who is perfect for you and will change your life completely for the better. Surely that is something to look forward to?

She will come along and when she does, this other one will be a distant memory.

Not sure yet. They're coming down for a meeting next week. Annoying in that the sole reason I'm still here is I qualify for long service (7 years in ACT) On June 1st....so if they don't transfer me I'll miss out by three months.

Plus my car is 50/50 to be written off after a crash on the last day of my road trip. So that'll make things hard for a transfer outside reasonable public transport distance, given I'll put any money straight off my mortgage in case I have to find a new job/take a reduced position.

You just come out of uni yeah? Think this happens to a lot of young couples - happened to me. Perfect relationship for uni but looking forward your future plans dont really line up and you clash or drift.

My advice - get stuck into your new job, enjoy the new freedoms that come with being young and single, save up for the biggest trip you can afford. f**k off to Europe or SE Asia or America for a few months. The rest will sort itself out.

This.

It hurts like a bitch right now, but freedom at this age is a gift that you'll look back on someday and really appreciate.

There's never a better time to get out, see the world, and sow your wild oats.

Hell, if you've just graduated, you'll get paid to do it if you don't mind teaching bratty Asian kids English.

Just been made redundant. 7 years service.

I went on my first big trip at 25 and my only regret was not doing it 4 years earlier after my first break up. Wasted years

Baz wanna start a business.

I like the business plan that the mafia used....

Absolutely! I'm really good at busting knees...I mean, I mostly have only had practice on my own but I'm sure the principles are the same...
