I went on my first big trip at 25 and my only regret was not doing it 4 years earlier after my first break up. Wasted years

I did my first big one at 24, having never had anything approaching a proper relationship. Best thing I ever did, as I was in a real rut socially, mentally, physically, and life-wise.

Did my first big trip through Europe at 18, but then didn't travel again until I was about 27. Uni and work got in the way for a long time (now a mortgage instead). A famous man once said "I got 99 problems but a bitch ain't one", sums up my adult life pretty well.

did my first big trip at 24 to Europe, then did north America, then the other side of Europe, now NZ.

Still much to do and see, the other half hasn't been anywhere so I guess she will be choosing the next trip when we finally get settled here

Living overseas was 90% of my travel until my site picked up and started scoring me some spending money and/or trips.

In a lot of ways, it's a more authentic way to experience a culture. In others, you end up overlooking a lot because it's nearby and convenient.

Two and a half years in China, and I only managed to see the Great Wall on a holiday there a year later.

Thanks for the support guys

I'm starting full time work in 2 weeks time and will be lucky enough to meet 20 odd uni graduates like myself, so that will come at a good time to meet new people.

Will definitely be chasing new activities, hobbies and broadening my social group to help free my mind
Nice work getting a grad job, they're tough to get. Where will you be working?

Just think that you haven't yet met the Woman who is perfect for you and will change your life completely for the better. Surely that is something to look forward to?

She will come along and when she does, this other one will be a distant memory.

That is definitely positive. At the same time, the thought of taking possibly years to find someone else who is a good fit is quite daunting. Everyone's different too. I've always needed close companionship and don't believe i'm suited to the single life

You just come out of uni yeah? Think this happens to a lot of young couples - happened to me. Perfect relationship for uni but looking forward your future plans dont really line up and you clash or drift.

My advice - get stuck into your new job, enjoy the new freedoms that come with being young and single, save up for the biggest trip you can afford. f**k off to Europe or SE Asia or America for a few months. The rest will sort itself out.

Yep 22 (23 next month) and just finished uni last July which puts things in better perspective at how there is a lot ahead. Am eyeing a trip overseas for sure lmao

Just been made redundant. 7 years service.

Sorry to hear dude :( That sucks. Hope it works out

Thanks man. Definitely wasn't easy with the oversupply of grads and immense competition out there, so I feel very lucky. Was on the back of about 40 grad job applications and 7 or so final interviews.

I'll be working for a certain government financial regulator who the banks have loved blaming for raising mortgage rates ;-) a.p.r.a
