the original three were pretty enjoyable.

People love them because it takes them back to a time when they saw the films and they were good enough to make an impact on a child. Show them to an adult for a first time viewing and they'll be viewed much more harshly.

That being said, they're not the worst things ever made. Heavily over rated though.
