So I had it confirmed I had a mild heart attack last Saturday. Been to the doctors and been given pills to bring blood pressure down, been for chest xray and ECG, Blood test in the morning and depending on results of chest xray when I go back this afternoon may also require something called a stress ecg.

Doctor says I am in Cardiac distress and to avoid physical labour (this I can do).

Seriously friends if you smoke really consider giving it away I am 44 years old and I imagine most of this has been brought on by 20+ years of smoking.

Genetics, diet and lifestyle also have a large bearing on what could be, but yeah - smoking will have to go sir...
Hopefully you'll manage to make a strong recovery after the warning that helped you turn a corner.

Oh god, I remember having one of those. What fun it was...

Hell yeah - went to have one done due to a family history. They told me to wear 'Comfortable walking clothes'. (Refused the nuclear test, so was told they'd do a full stress test which should show any probs)

So I rolled up after work in cotton drill pants and steel cap boots.

Got on that F-ing treadmill and the damn thing started to tilt up and get faster and faster. Finished doing 2 minutes on level 7 - something like 12 km/hr on a 20 degree slope. Pulled up puffing a fair bit and the tubby tech monitoring the test made a note that I 'exhibited shortness of breath'.

Felt like asking him to jump on the treadmill.

Bunniesman will be the one with the tissues in the bushes at Souths training.

Or maybe like that streaker, with GI fulfilling the role of Andrew Symonds...

What were you pedestrians expecting on an ECG stress test? A casual walk through a flower filled field? To be carried in a litter to the coliseum? A day spa and pedicure? A leisurely cruise down the Rhine? A bottle of wine and a view of the sunset?

I did mine due to having a severe case of Pectus Exacvatum (Dent in chest that puts pressure on the heart/lungs) and after about 10minutes of exercise I was on the floor. Not because I was un-fit sport wise but the sheer amount of pressure that was on my lungs/heart my body could not handle it.

It was a bloody joke. I had no idea what I was in for but damn they push to your limits during that test.

Gonna have a vote for next election. Voting for Abbott on the grounds that

a) he's not a ranga
b) he doesn't seem to give a shit about AFL

Edit: He's from Manly territory. f**k him off too.

Didgi hes a politician. If it gets him a vote he'll talk about AFL till the cows come home and dye his hair red. Same goes for all of them. You know when a politician is lying the minute their lips move. :p

Never seen him have anything to do with AFL (unlike a certain redheaded Welsh woman who's running the country). Although on the flip side Abbott has been photographed in a Manly jersey a bit too much for my liking.

George R. R. Martin better get his arse into gear on the rest of A Song of Ice and Fire. I'm up to the 2nd part of A Dance with Dragons, and need to read about more rooting and dragons and killing and shit.

I finished the last book about 4 months ago now. If he doesn't pull his finger out I'll forget what I was up to and have to start over again.

There are no guarantee's that the next book will be the last of the series either... We could be 5 or 6 more years waiting to see how it all ends.
