Impromptu FFB reunion! Without the pies though because Timmah's already had them.

The US, France and South Africa have brilliant anthems.

I also like the UKs and New Zealands. But these days I spose an anthem with "God" in the title would offend the PC crowd.

The Aussie one just has over complicated lyrics and the music/beat isn't the sort of style that would inspire you like anthems are meant to.

There's not a lot I like about America, tbh, having been there....

I love America. While I'm not a fan of their politics or some of their more idiotic people, I dig their food; I love their cities; I love theme parks; I think naturally the country is stunning; I dig their girls; I love their sports; I dig their TV; I'm envious of their holidays...

Yeah, I'll marry an American girl one day so I can spend more time there. But I'll still laugh at the 'World series', Republicans, gun lobbyists, and bigots.

Yeah, Cleveland was taking the browns for granted. They'll never do that again.

Also, seeing Indy come to Baltimore and lose in week one was hilarious. Baltimore went nuts - they despise the colts beyond reason.

I bet!!!

If Tampa ever lost the Bucs I would be devo'd. The whole reason I chose them as my team 20 years ago was that Florida is the QLD equivalent over there and Tampa the Townsville equivalent (small city, military orientated) and the team sucked badly from day 1 (much like my beloved NQ clowns) and always played little brother to the Dolphins (Brisbane)

I honestly don't know who I would follow if it happened???

It is a beautiful country....I just didn't dig the society that's living in the country, sadly. I found it rather ugly. Of course there were exceptions, but on the whole I was left with that impression

Holidays? You mean 2 weeks if you're lucky?

I've always been slightly envious of it. It inspires them to the point of tears and it's hard not to feel a little patriotic yourself hearing it. They fought and died for their independence for better or worse. Out anthem was chosen based on a competition in a newspaper.

Exactly what I feel, especially watching the Patriots v Ravens game and the emotions from the players and crowd. I will never forget Falcons v Bears game. That sent chills down my spine.

Out of curiosity, where have your travels to the US taken you? I fell in love with the Pacific Northwest, which is a tad different from the ugly American stereotype out there.

I more meant the way in which they're celebrated. 4th of July shits on Australia Day, we don't really do a Thanksgiving style holiday, and it's a daydream of mine to someday celebrate a real White Christmas.

Really? When I went to America I loved. Heck, It's my next holiday destination and I plan to spend a while over there.

I'm envious of their patriotism, their sports and Nascar + Many other things. I just find their culture, history.etc unlike no other. Yes, Their girls rock. I had a American when I was studying at Uni and she was a stunner.

I normally find tennis boring, the only interesting match I've watched strangely was last night's Djokovic v Wawrinka match. Was epic and very skilful from both men.

Otherwise... Bring on the f**king NRL.

Funny thing, if you watch the credits for the original Predator movie you'll see Peter Cullen aka Optimus Prime credited for the Predators vocalisations.

Did Washington DC and loads of Virginia/Maryland (we stayed with friends in Reston-avoided ebola), LA (expected nothing less than ugly), New York, Seattle, Pennsylvania, Minneapolis. Admittedly not the widest travel experience and I'm not saying I'd never go back and give it a chance...
