oh thank god i'm not the only one!! i'm fine in person. i mean i can walk up to a pissed off losing coach or player at NSW Cup and ask for an interview no problem, or NRL players at events and what not, totally fine.

but call someone i don't know on the phone...omg. i actually get heart palpitations.

I used to get a bit nervous when I first started interviewing NSW Cup coaches.

And then I came across one very unhappy coach who put me at ease.

madunit: Can I get your thoughts on todays performance. Obviously not the result you were expecting
Coach: mate, I'll be honest with you here. That was the most inept hopeless f**king display I've seen in many many years. These hopeless merkins can f**king walk back to Sydney and have a long hard f**king think about their sh*thouse effort. Useless merkins.

madunit: Any chance you can give me something that can be published?

Coach: Not now, call me next week maybe.

Elaborating on my plane story... we got back to Brisbane airport after the game last night, the Dragons were milling around the food court in the QANTAS terminal god bless them. My mrs got a photo with Brett Morris (I asked him if he was coming to join Josh at Canterbury and he said no chance ) then we sat down to eat. Boarded our plane, seated at the back and just when we thought everyone was on, most of the Dragons team boarded, sitting behind and around us. Surreal experience :crazy: I was next Trent Merrin and Soward was behind me, Soward loves geeing everybody up, funny man.

Was interesting to see a different side of the players, just being themselves - instead of the forced media stuff they do. Good bunch of guys just like anyone else, except they play footy. lol
