Oh, and Monk - the playing the guitar is an art form. Don't become another soul-less, talentless tool who plays three chords and is considered a genius. I'm looking at you, John Butler/John Mayer/Jack Johnson/Newton Faulkner/emo guitarrists/etc.

now roosters are going to be favourites for the premiership :(
i hate expectations.

In other news, i am pondering learning to play guitar.
thoughts?

1) play guitar

2) f**k expectations. Don't behave like a Dragons fan. Whether internet twats talk us up doesnt have any effect on our results ;-)

Adam's right.

Also, look at it this way - the Roosters have already won a title this decade, so they're no strangers to the expectations placed upon them.

In other news...Why is it so hard to find work?

Cause companies suck!

Roosters shouldn't be greedy, they have a title already some of us have waited 30 years :p

I know eh! I wish you luck!

I'm kinda lucky for now, in the sense I have a job...For now. But things will change in the next couple of months (I know it), and I will be jobless. I have bills and rent to pay and I can't find anything else. I'm petrified.

Worst part is this job now isn't my first job per se, but the first job I stayed at for a long time. So my issue now is I have no real qualifications and no "real" experience so nobody wants to hire me.

I got a stomach ulcer a few years ago...I think it's slowly coming back.

honestly, the easiest way to find work is through connections. I know it's kind of cheating, but you got to get your foot in the door somehow. "It's not what you know, it's who you know"

That sucks Eele, it's kinda the situation I'm in, no experience and really no connections.

You need to be prepared to start at the bottom. You have no freakin idea how many youngsters I see come into my industry with a chip on their shoulder, expecting to run the world within the first 12 months.

Although I had a degree behind me, I still started on a traineeship and my first job was cleaning the warehouse at my old work. If you have the right ethic you will progress quickly enough. Within 18 months I had more than doubled my starting pay and my boss was talking about progression strategies. Turn up when you say you will, be prepared to do the sh*t work when you have to and dress for the role you want, not the role that you may have and you will go a long way.

thank god.

Mate, you'll be favourites next week after rolling us. ;-)

As for the guitar, go for it. The first song you must learn is Deep Purple's "Smoke on the Water". Then you must go into every guitar/music shop you can find, pick up a guitar, and play it.

One might say the Roosters are past masters at winning when the big dogs take themselves out with their own stupidity...

Excellent advice. But work ethic is not my issue - I don't expect to be given a high salarybf I'm not earnng it. I was working for 3 months and was promoted to supervisor. Three months after that I got manager. For the last three years I've been manager.

I think the problem in my specificcase is nobody wants tohire a 26 year old, uni dropout with a less than stellar resume and no real qualifications.

I know if i can get an interview, I'm in. I'm supremely confident of that. Problem us getting that call back. Plus I have no idea what to apply for.

/rant

I just hope I get something before it's too late.
