I considered putting my hand up to mod both Manly and Gold Coast, but in sections like that, if you wanted to be a mod, you should be responsible for trying to get traffic in. And that might be a pain. I might take on Manly if work calms down.

Just make game threads and news threads and say things which will encourage Manly fans to come in there and talk.

I think if I wanted to do that, I should trade my Eels moderatorhood, for those other two. Eels is more about policing because there is heaps of traffic there. And although the Eels section can be quite funny to read as an Eels fan, a lot of the time it can be quite painful too and I have a duty to read a lot of it as a mod there

yeah Hala i have noticed a lot of the team forums move very slowly. That newcaslerabbit guy keeps the souffs forum moving all by himself. The knights forum rolls along fairly well others not so much

I think Sharks, Eels, Dragons, Knights do pretty well most of the time, the rest sort of pale in comparison. Tigpies might come fifth

I think sometimes you need to flame people into replying. Or just make a disagreeable comment, to get people to come in and disagree, and then hopefully come in some more and talk etc

I actually saw madunit espouse the virtues of the disagreeable comment trick, so credit where it is due as I actually have not used that trick yet

love newcastlerabbits work

post article
no replies
repeat
Only 18 of the threads on our first page have no replies. And it's not just replies, some of the threads without replies have over 100 views. So information is getting passed on.

Also, about the varying levels of activity on different clubs subforums, I think a lot has to do with if the club has their own forum elsewhere. Like Souths have The Warren which I think takes a lot of traffic away from here. Some of the other clubs would be in the same position.
