Swann retires

"I came to Australia in the hope of winning our fourth Ashes series on the trot but that's now impossible," Swann, a regular columnist with the Sun, said in the paper. "So it's time for someone else to buckle in and enjoy the ride.

"I could have made myself available for the last two Tests and maybe had a bit of a send-off from the Barmy Army. But that's no reason to hang on for two more games. I like to be the centre of attention -- but for the right reason by winning games of cricket."

The amount of destruction we have brought on England I wouldn't be surprised if David Cameron steps down and England falls into complete anarchy.

His average would have gone over 30 by the end of the series.

Only reason I can think of.

Apart from the Mad Ranga and maybe Shoulder Pads, is there anyone in this rabble of a squad that have multiple vertebrae in their backs?

You'd hope so given they've trashed your mob 3 series in a row.

This series has been a disaster but let's not forget that this is relatively the same team as the one that has won 3 Ashes series in a row, including a mind boggling 3 innings victories last time out here.

So lets not be silly by judging them purely on this shambolic series.

It wasn't so long ago under Arthur that we were calling virtually the same Aussie team the most pea hearted ever during the India raping.

But the Australian team isn't the same.

A lot of players in that England team playing on reputation alone.

When the going gets tough...

Great bowler. Wonder if his heart has been in it because he is down there with Prior as worst player of the series.
