Interesting to see what stories of player unrest and infighting are going to come out of the English camp. Plenty going on behind the scenes no doubt.

I think they need to hire Micky Arthur and his implementation of creating a sustainable cricket side moving forward into the future over the course of time.

So who do we reckon this one nasty Australian is. My guess is David Warner and he should be punished by cricket Australia for chasing two soft poms (well one is a saffer) with an envelope full of money for Christmas.

Well done Davey. It was all good times for swann having a dance when they were winning but he cops a bit when they are losing and his nan is whinging about mean aussies..

Whoever it was, he should be knighted (just to add insult to injury :p).

Loving the Poms' implosion.

When I was 18 I worked retail and one of the older guys there (he was like 35) had his mum call in sick for him. At the time I thought that was about the softest thing I had ever heard but I think a 36 year old test cricketer retiring than having nan attack the mean Australians probably takes the cake.

This is friggen fantastic.

Does his geniused sprinkler dance to the crowd when he's winning, now running off home while Nan fights his battles when he's losing.

Next pin up boy to for this 'nasty Aussie' to bully out of the country - Anderson.

If he's back here next summer playing BBL, which is fairly likely I reckon, the crowds will give him no end of grief over that.

And now, the end is near
And so I face the final curtain
My friend, I'll say it clear
I'll state my case, of which I'm certain
I've lived a life that's full shit
I traveled each and ev'ry Cricket Ground
And more, much more than this, I did it Nans way

Regrets, I've had a few
The Sprinker, deserves a mention
I did what I had to do , I saw it through I had exemption
I planned each wicket, each careful turn along India's highway
And more, much more than this, I did it Nans way

Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew
And through it all, when there was doubt
I got ate it up and spat out
I faced it all and I stood small and did it Nans way

I've loved, I've laughed and cried
I've had my fill, my share of losing
And now, as tears subside, I find it all so unamusing
To think I did all that
And may I say, not in a shy way,
"Oh, no, oh, no, not me, I did it Nans way"

For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has naught
The right to say the things he feels and the words of one who kneels
The record shows I could not the blows and did it Nans way!

Appolgies Frank.

Swann says he didn't criticise mates and England rooms are 'very happy place'

Staff Writers
December 24, 2013 1:23PM

GRAEME Swann says he wasn't taking a shot at Kevin Pietersen, or any other teammates, when he claimed some people playing the game "have no idea how far up their own backsides they are and it will bite them on the arse one day."

His astonishing attack - after quitting international cricket mid-tour - left plenty of room for fans to fill in the blanks, and KP was seen as a likely target.

Now Swann claims the England dressing room is a "very happy place" and has praised the team for its style and dignity, and despite walking out on them believes "nobody is shirking responsibility."

In a third straight day of columns in The Sun newspaper, Swann - whose granny stepped in Wednesday to complain of nasty treatment by Australian players forcing him out of the sport - has further backtracked.

"The truth is I was talking about certain other players around the world who don't carry themselves in a manner that I think is befitting of wearing an international shirt," Swann wrote.

"Myself and Kev have had a very good working relationship and the way he has reintegrated himself back into the team during the last year has been spot-on.

"This is what I said on Sunday: "Some people playing the game at the minute have no idea how far up their own backsides they are and it will bite them on the arse one day.

"And, when it does, I hope they look back and are embarrassed about how they carry on. No names."

Swann acknowledged that he may have gone too far in his initial comments.

"They are quite strong words and you have to remember it was an emotional time for me - retiring from cricket was a huge event in my life.

"With TV, radio, online and newspaper interviews, I reckon I spoke for more than an hour on Sunday and virtually all of my comments were about how much I love the England boys. They are like part of my family."

Swann claims that most news outlets have unfairly concentrated on a "couple of throwaway lines."

"I'm not naive - I know that sort of thing happens. And, with hindsight, I should probably have clarified there and then that I wasn't talking about England players, rather than leaving it hanging in the air and saying I wasn't going to name names.

"One of the things that tends to happen when a team is playing badly and losing is that people look for fault lines and divisions.

"But the England dressing-room is a very happy place. Of course we're disappointed with the way the series has gone but we remain very supportive of each other and all the vibes are constructive.

"Nobody is shirking responsibility. Everyone is being honest with each other and is desperately keen to put things right.

"There is no way I would think any England players are up their own backsides. The England boys handle themselves superbly, with style and dignity, whether we are winning or losing."

Swann clearly has some explaining to do - especially to his teammates.

"It came as a big surprise and disappointment when I was asked the next morning by Matt Prior which England players I was talking about. They are my best mates and I certainly wasn't having a pop at any of them.

"I'd never do that."
