Good call - that's why no union player could ever make it in league.

I resume you mean Ricky STUART and Matt ROGERS. We got em in the juniors. Saved them the embarrassment of being like John Kirwan and Garrick Morgan. ;-)
BTW, what Origin title has Gower got? He was sacked in 04 from memory!

Mathew Ridge, Craig Innes, Frano Botica, Darryl Halligan - there's a long line of one's who've had fairly good success in one form or another in league.
Rogers :lol:sohokid said:Tighthead said:Spencer would wind up in Premier League. Watch the first Willy Mason/Nathan Hindmarsh/Shane Webcke/Ben Kennedy charge at him and see how his Union-learned tackling skills stand up. ball skills may be OK, but as League is so much faster, he'd struggle.

As I said, it was in a past era. Price decided to cross codes in late 1975 - 30 years ago for god's sake! How about Michael O'Connor, Ray Price, Matthew Ridge, John Timu then?

There is a long line of ex Union players who have suceeded in league. May argument is that, since our code went full time pro, who is the biggest Union start to SUCCESFULLY cross codes?
I honestly can't think of one.
LF, Gower is the billy cart halfback in a formula one race. End of story.
Ricky Stuart was a Wallaby. How's that exactly not a junior????

I've posted the rules here before.
Anyone who played league and union as a junior is a league junior (if he is a good player) see R Stuart.
Anyone who played league and union as a junior and has a bad game is a union junior (see L Bott when he plays badly) and becomes a league junior when he plays league again (see L Bott when he plays well).
Any half decent wallaby is only half decent because he was a league junior (see Tuquiri, Giteau, Rogers) despite any union heritage.
All Wallabies (including Sailor, Giteau, Rogers etc.) are NRL rejects.
Despite him playing for the Kiwis, Tasesa Lavea is a league reject (because he played union as a junior, probably).
