Switching codes? Warriors approach Spencer

Spencer would wind up in Premier League. Watch the first Willy Mason/Nathan Hindmarsh/Shane Webcke/Ben Kennedy charge at him and see how his Union-learned tackling skills stand up. ball skills may be OK, but as League is so much faster, he'd struggle.

Good call - that's why no union player could ever make it in league.

What about Ricky Stewart? Matt Rodgers??

Do you want anymore???

Mathew Ridge, Craig Innes, Frano Botica, Darryl Halligan - there's a long line of one's who've had fairly good success in one form or another in league.

Gower has a premiership....as captain, Origin titles and Test match wins to his credit.

Whats Stacey got?

One good season and a sacked coach.

What a record.

No. A Grand Final, a preliminary final, a minor premiership, 34 caps for his country, a golden boot trophy, Kiwi immortal status while still playing, test match wins, captained his country, 220 first grade games, life membership to his club.

Mate, you've got to take the patch off. Just say it, you don't like Stacey and be done with it. Fair enough. Don't carry on the dribble, its monotonous and boring. It appears you're so one eyed on the issue he could score 40 points in a game and you'd still whinge that one of his boot laces wasn't regulation length. Save everyone the time and don't comment on him when its obvious you've preconcieved your judgement on him, regardless of fact.

You are the slava of Stacey Jones, only the other way around. And he's got the IQ of a pebble. What's your excuse? Just plain envy?

The only one who is laughing is the rest of us... at you and the other slavatorators coming out of Covell la-la land. Take a leaf out of Stacey Jones' book and let your actions do the talking. Fire up when he's at the lowest level, don't try and come up with BS when he's 2nd equal in the Dally M's and playing very good footy. It shows how prejudged your thoughts are - quite irrational.

I resume you mean Ricky STUART and Matt ROGERS. We got em in the juniors. Saved them the embarrassment of being like John Kirwan and Garrick Morgan. ;-)

BTW, what Origin title has Gower got? He was sacked in 04 from memory!

How about Michael O'Connor, Ray Price, Matthew Ridge, John Timu then?

There is a long line of ex Union players who have suceeded in league. May argument is that, since our code went full time pro, who is the biggest Union start to SUCCESFULLY cross codes?

I honestly can't think of one.

LF, Gower is the billy cart halfback in a formula one race. End of story.

And you're judging John Kirwan at what 32-33 in the twilight of his career?

Absolute guaran-damn-tee if he comes over when he's 26-27, people would have been astonished. He was the best finisher either code of the late 80's no doubt.

As I said, it was in a past era. Price decided to cross codes in late 1975 - 30 years ago for god's sake!

BTW, John Timu was shit in League.

I've posted the rules here before.

Anyone who played league and union as a junior is a league junior (if he is a good player) see R Stuart.

Anyone who played league and union as a junior and has a bad game is a union junior (see L Bott when he plays badly) and becomes a league junior when he plays league again (see L Bott when he plays well).

Any half decent wallaby is only half decent because he was a league junior (see Tuquiri, Giteau, Rogers) despite any union heritage.

All Wallabies (including Sailor, Giteau, Rogers etc.) are NRL rejects.

Despite him playing for the Kiwis, Tasesa Lavea is a league reject (because he played union as a junior, probably).

Name a union player who has changed codes since they became full time pro?

Look at all these idiots.

"Hey, I'll bag Gower...that will show him"

Did I say Gower was good. No.

Jones has done nothing, won nothing. His career reads even worse then Frank Endacotts.

So give it up. Jones has nothing.....a bloke from a different sport would be better and the club knows it!

Misty Bee you will find not many have switched over when league went full time pro as Union also did around the same time. League was semi pro previously so Union players would come across for $ as Union was still amateur.

Once Union went professional and the players got paid why would they come over to league? thats the reason why not many union people stand out in league as not many have come across.
