As above, there is considerable weight behind a name change at the Roosters. There seemed to be big approval for my club when they reverted to Canterbury Bankstown, so it'll be interesting to see whether the wide NRL fans view this as a good idea for the Roosters...

Bondi Roosters is not likely IMO.

My own prediction is that at some point soon we'll see an article in the Tele saying there's been a groundswell of support for a return to the traditional name, Eastern Suburbs.

I think Politis was just throwing a plausible, but controversial idea out there to get people talking and generate a bit of publicity and momentum.

At least that's what I'm hoping! Most Roosters supporters would love to go back to being called Easts.

i like the thought

bondi is a focal point for tourists and would attract people to the game. the roosters are in bondi junction, and a stones throw or two from bondi beach

the only thing is that it might alienate people from other suburbs in the area

ravesis could be the sponsors....they could borrow an idea off the dogs and have 100 spoodles lining their path as they run onto the field. after match drinks could be at the beach road :lol:

I would rebrand them as the 'Eastern Suburbs Roosters'. Whilst the Bondi idea has merit in the sense it's reknown the world over, the Easter Suburbs name is getting back to the club's roots and including a wider fan base.
