I know he seems to love putting the boot into his former club, but in this case I have to agree with him.
He has suggested that Price is trying to be too much like Bennett.
He's also suggested Price should chance his arm more and have some fun - take a punt on young players and work on new attacking moves. Again I have to agree.
The game is changing and maybe even a perfect clone of Bennett is not enough (the Knights results suggest that too) - not that I would want Price to be like Bellamy either.
Anyway, I am not asking what you think of Tallis - just his observations.

Tallis as a player was f**ken awesome.

Tallis as a coach was shit (see South Sydney Rabbitohs).

Tallis as a human being is f**king shitter (see what he did to our club. More recently see his little dummy spit on the Footy Show last night re: Michael Slater jumping out of a plane, then Tallis butting in saying there were no cockroaches involved. What a scumbag stealing the limelight off Slater, it isn't hard to just shut the f**k up and appreciate what Slat's did).

As much as I hate to admit it, I agreed with his comments about Price trying to be Bennett (in pressers at least, I don't think he'd be like Bennett at training, etc). It has frustrated me from Round Two onwards this year that he impersonates Bennett at the post-game pressers, which is why I was so happy last week that he was himself and got a little pissed off.

I support Price 100%. I'll never put the knives into our coach, he deserves his two years. I just wish he'd be himself more at the pressers.

My 2c

Hopefully the bad starts make like Price's chin tonight and disappear! Carn Dragons, less than four hours to go, can't wait!!!

yep, just getting ready for the trip from willoughby, think they'll do better tis week.

You know the best part of it?

When Tallis was on the Cowboys board he recommended against signing Wayne Bennett (!), Bennett's second choice. Ends up at Saints & we win a premiership.

And some people say Karma doesn't exist.

The point is more that Tallis knows nothing of Price. You can't make a comparison between two people when you only know one well. The tool wouldn't be welcome within 100m of anyone in the Saints camp, let alone know Price intimately enough to make these comments. Everyone at Saints thinks the same as we do about Tallis - he is an idiot with a mighty big chip on his shoulder.

The Bennett system was already starting to crack last year. It was a good system when you have the wealth of talent we possessed in 2010 but this is a depleted and aging squad that Price is playing with. He needs time to develop a style and build a roster of his own. These things take time and it is all part of rebuilding. I know some people hate the whole rebuilding thing but like it or not, its happening!

Tallis also criticised Bennett when he was coaching Saints. You know, the guy who coached us to a Premiership. Good judge.

When Tallis wore the red V he was simply awesome and played with plenty of ticker. Smithy then obviously pi$$ed him off and he wanted to leave. He had more a gripe with Brian Smith than the club. They should have then released him not forced him to play under a coach he had lost respect for. Brad Mackay did the same, he also left cause of Smithy, another Dragons legend.

I agree with his comments 100%. Price is trying the coach the team not to lose rather than to win and it is not working. It's good to defend and only concede 1 or 2 tries but when the team you have can't score 1 or 2 tries how are you going to win? The Saints have not been this bad in attack for a very very long time. Glad Saints gave him a chance as we would never have known how good he will be but now that he has had the chance see ya later. No more experimenting. We will suffer like Canberrra are under Furner and Parra under Kearney.

Tallis refused to play for us when we had David Waite in 1996. That was post Brian Smith. He would have made a huge difference. His gripe was with the ARL and Phil Gould. We copped his dummy spit.

That Tallis sure is a rugby league expert. He was dumped from the Souths coaching staff this year - they are having their best season in decades.

yep... proven that good players dont necessarily make good coaches..
tallis has never had a brain - not even when playing.. so i am surprised that he thinks he is a scholar of the game now..

I am no fan of Tallis & remember well how he treated Saints when he left.
In his defence, at least this year he has improved a bit, he is prepared to speak his mind (not real smart)& not scripted. Gordon has had more to do with top class football/footballers than most of us so some of it should have stuck
