Tariq charged

Put aside that I am a Dragons tragic.

I watched it again today. It looked as though Michael Morgan straightened just before the pass and Tariq reacted quickly thinking it may be a dummy. The 1st contact by Tariq is unremarkable around the upper body but spins Morgan slightly inwards to Tariq’s shoulder. Morgan’s head hits the shoulder as Tariq straightens in the tackle. I believe Morgan ( he is top class) was taking it to the defence line to draw Simms and open up the gap outside. Thurston to a tee.

At worst a touch late but even that a fine margin; OK could live with a grade 1 careless.
The point is that describing it as ‘reckless’ is simply wrong and suggests some serious backroom shenanigans.

Truth is, it's not even reckless.
A player has to ( within a split second) make a decision on how he is going to tackle the opposition.
He went to a genuine arms height tackle to stop the player getting rid of the ball.

They have too many people who do not know the game but have been placed on the board on politics, not knowledge.

The nrl are truly a bunch of knobheads if they think otherwise.
The real problem is nowadays ................. and this is no disrespect to woman (l'm on their side for most part ) is that they and many a todays male board members, have no idea of how the game is played.

They are placed on the board by wankers like Beattie, to be seen to be being proactive in having women on board and or, the right busiess comunicators, so they are looked at in a positive light.

Problem is, when it comes down to making real rugby league decisions that are critical, they know sweet FA. That is the real problem of having people like Beattie on the board. He's all about having 50-50 women / men on board, never about having the best people.

The same applies to todays politics. they must be seen to be equal all round.

Next, we'll have a couple of neutral genders on board, just so they can be seen to be 'in sync' with todays image.

Well, they can all go and get stuffed .................nicely that is, wouldn't want to ruffle any feathers!
OKB, I think you do yourself a disservice with this post. Of the commissioners, 2 of 8 are women. And 2 of 10 in the NRL leadership team are women.

Fair enough, SB82.
The point l was trying to make was .................. wrong people on the board.

Thanks for picking me up on my poor choice of words, l can appreciate constructive criticism, hence l've edited my post accordingly.

St George Illawarra back-rower Tariq Sims will plead not guilty to his grade two dangerous contact – head/neck charge following the Dragons' 22-14 win over the North Queensland Cowboys on Friday night.

Sims was charged for his tackle on Cowboys skipper Michael Morgan early in the second half of the Dragons' victory.

Sims's hearing will take place at Rugby League Central on Tuesday evening.

Tariq’s tackle on Morgan is the EXACT same as when Corey Norman got hit by parramatta Fijian player. Norman copped a broken jaw and nothing was done by the match review committee. The following week parra player did the same tackle and THEN the reactionary MRC charged him.

Tariq should fight the charges and use the Norman tackle as exhibit A
DRAGONS players ALWAYS get rorted by the judicatory.
Just ask Ryley and Frizell.

Agree Mate
Also they are looking at in super slow motion.
Sould be only looked at in real time only.
If you slow it down every tackle look worse than they really are.

If you play the above footage at 0.25 speed from 2:40 onward it looks like the correct charge.

Nicolaous Ghabar defended Billy Slater quite well allowing him to play in the Grand Final last year - good luck hoping CEO Johnston has the brains to engage Ghabar.

The rest on the sideline will do Tariq well - freshen him up for when Mary has the boys make their run for the lofty ('successful' lol) heights of 7th or 8th...
Wondering if anyone noticed the hit on Tariq at about the 50 sec mark. Hit’s him the face with shoulder????
Haven’t been on much lately have sort of lost interest due to piss poor coaching. Just can’t watch a team with a half decent roster play the way they have been coached. Sorry guys

You could look at Tariqs charge 2 ways
Firstly leaving Klemmer out of origin maybe Fittler thinks he may not get off
Secondly because he been picked for Origin 3 if he gets off then tbere could be an outcry hes got off because hes picked for Origin 3...so that could go against him

As I stated charged in the first place is ridiculous. .but funnier things have happened
In judiciary meetings

Both Fittler and Roach have strongly come out in support of Sims. Yes they have vested interests but I think it is sincere for what it's worth. That can't harm Sims chances. Of course McGregor also was very curt with his assessment. Not sure if that helps him much though.
