The Hobart Tigers outclassed the Eastern Shore Thunder 54 to 14 in the Grand Final of the Tasmanian Rugby League played at Rugby Park on Saturday.
The Tigers were ruthless piling on 11 tries in a stunning display of running Rugby League which enthralled the big crowd.
Outside centre Ryan Devine scored the try of the match in first half when he powered through 6 defenders to score under the posts.
Sunnia Maafu, was devastating in attack and defence and thoroughly deserved the Bill Mahina Memorial Man of the Match trophy.
Inside centre Moao Vaitohi had his best game of the season creating space out wide allowing the big Tigers backs to pile on the points.
The score was 20 to 10 at half time as the Thunder played with their usual tenacity against the odds. Aaron Gibson was best player for the Thunder. Beau Reeve and Shane Weirman also had strong games.
In the end, the Tigers simply had too many big guns and thoroughly deserved the title of Grand Final winners.
Tasmanian Rugby League Vice President, Justin Kearney, praised all 4 Clubs for a successful season of Rugby League.
The competition will recommence in November and the League expects it will have six Clubs participating.
The Tasmanian Rugby League will hold its Presentation Night at the Town Hall next Saturday night 6.30 pm.
