Hi
I seriously doubt anybody cares any more but the Tasmanian Rugby League plays its 9s tournament tomorrow. Two Clubs in Hobart will commit two teams. Another new club in Hobart will field a few players (duty of care? insurance?). Launceston have folded (so I hear) and the North West? Who knows? Congrats to the VRL and the plums at the Affiliated States total neglect committee. Bottle of red? Say goodbye to Tassie Rugby League. Why? There is no excuse for this.
Mate I have been restrained here. For all my complaints I hoped I was wrong. It is as bad as I thought.Jez this shits me.:x
Is there any techno poster who can raise a petition regarding the treatment (or complete lack of) of Tassie RL.
Let's get one going and send it on to the bloody NRL/ARLC.

The worst thing about it is there is huge interest in the comp. There is no leadership.
The excuses for its demise are being written now. By fools.
Seriously mate before tonights conversations with Clubs I hoped it might be okay but all news tonight was very very bad.It just pisses me off when good people who want the game to thrive are stamped on by f**kwits.

No. I won't mate. I am just an idiot who cares. I give up.
I agree. A smarter person than me once said 'never argue with an idiot'. The idiots have won. Goodbye and good luck,Ok, sorry to hear that but sometimes it is better to walk away for your own betterment. No use banging your head against a brick wall.
yepGood to see the whole of game review that took 18 months has had such an impact! Since it the game is on its knees in SA and Tas, the WArL board resigned on mass due to NRL interference and there has been no significant developments in nt or Vic. Well worth the money Dave! We still have no action on increasing development officers, giving infrastructure support to affiliated States, a proper NRL controlled NRL game program in affiliated States, strategy on how to piggy back off the new touch link up, improvement in tv coverage etc etc. the more things change the more they stay the same.

Please detail what that interference is?

Hi
As you may know, I have posted often here about the game and its progress down here.
After a lot of hard work by a lot of great people, we are basically dead on our feet.
There has been no commitment by the ARL to development here.
The four remaining Clubs are basically gone as officials are tired, and sick of empty promises.
Apparently, Officials from the NRL cannot open their emails.
If they do, they do not read them.
Sadly enough, getting the game going here would be relatively easy, but, sadly, it is a difficult task when we do not get a Development Officer.
After 5 years of busting my ass with other wonderful people, and after five years of empty promises it is fair to say the great game of Rugby League has no future here because those who are meant to care simply do not.
Yes we do have a 'nice little comp' here. But after five years of heart and soul, it may well be gone.
And yes - this post expects a response. But sadly - watch the spin.:x
Mr Sinderberry said most codes were "under-resourced on the administration side" and questioned existing structures.
"Do our corporate structures detract or assist from our aspirations as organisations? I think we need a conversation about private ownership or community ownership - structures that might assist the sport," he said.
Business leader and former Basketball Australia chairwoman Diane Smith-Gander identified the mish-mash of funding as a problem.
"There is funding available but you only get the funding for a particular program," he said.
"You don't get it for the administration and overhead that surrounds that. Taking on board a half a dozen programs becomes a real issue because it stretches your administration."
The problem was felt particularly at WA Rugby League.
"The game here grew 19.3 per cent last year," chief executive John Sackson said. "We grew that another 7 per cent this year. TV ratings are going up significantly. I have a team of DOs that are punching way above their weight. We are reaching breaking point now. We need more development officers, we need more resources. If they (the NRL) want growth we can give them growth but we need fuel in the tank."
