All this who-haa around the punishment, why don’t the NRL just transfer all suspensions on to Ryles and be done with it
Hypothetically, if a player in the final round, whose team is not playing in the finals, cops a charge of say 3 weeks for whatever indiscretion. Do those games include the pre-season matches? And so, shouldn't May only be missing 2 pre-season matches instead of the comp games.? And why didn't the NRL give this punishment well before the end of the comp, instead of right on the finals? NRL/News Corp bullshit again.

It’s handbags stuff, it really is, non event, not worthy of an NRL suspended sentence. Dealt with by the local court system and should have ended there. The fact we are still talking about is non sensical really.
The "psychopathic sewing circle" on full bore.🤣

Much like the 2014 season where Souths had a lack of depth at centre so a player already found guilty for DV was allowed to play out the season we have a situation here where Charlie Staines would feature in the finals, from an NRL point of view to hurt a Sydney team in such a way during the finals would be unpalatable

They have now set a precedent. But what happens during this finals series. If any player gets sent off or charged, will he still play on if his team wins?

Lol, and of course Nathan Cleary opens his stupid fat mouth and says he feels sorry for Taylan May and that he’s a great kid. Doesn’t feel sorry for the bloke who’s head he smashed on the ground.

Great kids don’t assault people from behind unprovoked.

Ha! What a surprise. A lot of grubs in that club.

Don't try to change the context in what I said . And as you very well know, I was sticking it to the Penrith men.

When you start bringing up bs factors in mitigation you are downplaying mays (and its only may) shitfulness. There was no justification for the assault.

"May was stupid but that guy was a farqwit and had whats coming" isnt very convincing of a sticking

He grabbed a bloke, he didn’t punch him, king hit him or anything more sinister.

He made a mistake, an error of judgement, it was hardly a hanging offence.

Such incidents occur in licensed premises on a very regular basis and few rarely end up in our criminal courts. Given his profile, as an NRL player this one did and he has no one but himself to blame for that.

He was dealt with the criminal courts and in this instance it should have been the end of it. Not worthy of further sanction.

2 games can be served in preseason max (to stop clubs arranging 5 friendlies to run down a suspension), but 2 games is 2 games. If the NRL were to wait finals games more heavily then I can get on board with that, but this was ridiculous.

He just grabbed him? Did nothing else?

Grabbed him from behind, unprovoked, and threw him to the ground with enough force to hit his head on the ground and give him a sprained neck. You know, actual bodily harm.

I feel like you yadda yadda’d over a pretty important part.

Maybe putting things in perspective, for comparison sake, you have a current player who one could argue was responsible for a far more heinous act of violence than the one perpetrated by Taylan May. I think if I was google and obtain the facts around the two incidents, if I recall correctly, the one involving a high profile player still employed by your club was rather unsavoury to say the least. I’m not sure the two incidents are comparable , I think one may have been far worse . I’ll let you be the judge of that. As I say , and have said, I don’t condone what Taylan May did, it was stupid. On the other hand what your player did was arguably far worse, and I’m not sure any sane person or an objective person could argue otherwise.

And he was f**king punished for it you numb-brained twatwhistle. Immediately. Not when it was convenient for him, or the club.

They surely cannot stand for it or believe it's just.
Should we protest? Burn the leagues club down? What do you suggest?

I think you will find most of us think what Taylan did was pretty dumb and if the NRL had dished out a more acceptable to the masses punishment there wouldn’t be much whinging from Penrith fans. But here we are, it’s not Taylan or the clubs fault the NRL are stupid.

The tears are pretty tasty though.

What was worse? What your player did or what our player did.

It is nothing to do with convenience what does that have to do it.

Any punishment, court imposed or NRL imposed should befit the crime or crimes in the case of your player.

At the end of the day everyone is capable of making a mistake, error of judgement, and they should not be tarnished for one indiscretion Whether that be Taylan May or your player, They clearly didn’t conduct themselves in a manner befitting of what is expected and it should be left at that.

After you got called out for downplaying May's incident, why did you feel the need to bring up some other player's indiscretions? Do you stand by the claim that May just grabbed him?
