If Brian Smith is serious about the selections he has made in round one then I'm perplexed. Some one ought to grab him by the scruff of the neck and say "STOP PLAYING BLOKES OUT OF THEIR F.....G POSITIONS!!!!!"

It was a problem which troubled the eels all season last year, now, without an injury in sight, he goes and does it again.

For God's sake did he watch any replays of Daniel Wagon pretending to be a 5/8. He stinks. This selection alone could mean a loss for parra.

What about Peterson at centre? Let him remain on the wing. He's less likely to have a brain explosion or drop the ball out there.

Who's going to come off the bench and provide some zip to take advantage of tired opposition forwards. Veaeliki??? Don't sh.t me!!!

Brian, stop trying to be a tricky genius and just let the boys play good footy. You're starting to p.ss me off already.

Worm,

After I came down off heroin ;-) from being distressed after reading the team, I reasoned that this would probably not be the team that runs the field.

I will however return to the needle if I see Wags standing two off the ruck.

3 1/2 days now of being a nervous wreck, copping flack from anyone who sees the team and runs into me.

these changes are amazing! Totally ridiculous, yes, but nevertheless this could be the biggest surprise us Eels fans have seen since the legendary Stu Galbraith! I can't bloody falming bloody wait!

I dont understand why some people think a guy like Grothe will become the worlds great winger in one off season, yet other guys like Wagon and Peterson can't improve at all. An off season is six months, thats plenty of time for players to reflect on their game and make neccessary changes.

Would you guys prefer a guy who has slackened off in the off season and hasn't done much in Michael Waitt or would you want a guy who's trained his balls off in Daniel Wagon.

How is Dykes Smithy's pet. Last year the two had a fallout and Dykes was pretty much sacked. However, he promised Smithy that if he kept him he would work hard to show the form that he has in the past. Why shouldn't Smith give him that chance to fullfil his promise.

Pre-Season: Everyone bagged Smith for signing a has-been in JT saying the Eels were going to be cr** because they had JT in the #7.

by the end of the season the tema had broken a number or records and made the GF.

Alex, how do you know that Witt slackened off in the off season?

He's now been blooded with a fair dose of first grade, so what does Brian do - yep send him to premmies. You become the best by playing against the best.

I'm not saying that Wags is not a good player. I rate him highly, I just think he makes a mockery of 5/8. He is an excellent defender who I think is better suited to lock. He lacks the speed and passing skills to play 5/8. He doesn't have the attacking options necessary for this position. When he plays there he is shut down as soon as he gets the ball and the outside backs starve.

JT is a much better player than Adam Dykes.

A positive about this team is that the pack looks great. Strong starting pack with 2 really good props on the bench. I personally would rather have had Armit on the bench instead of Stapleton but i am sure big Staple will do good.

Vaealiki hasnt done much in the last two seasons and if Smithy feels that other players out perform him then bad luck Dave. My only concern is in the halves. It doesnt look good at all there.

didn't anyone notice that Muzz did play a "roaming" roll on the field against the tigers, from what I remember he hung off alot of the ball carriers and was unlucky not get a clean break or two out of them.
