This is either going to be a great freshen up or backfire spectacularly when we clunk our way to a week 1 exit
I don't see it that way. We are better off running 5th because we play 8th. We owe it to the minnows who have been in the bubble away from their kin. It doesn't matter how much Penrith score. It won't be a solid hitout for them, so suck shit. Our guys who beat Storm will get a week off. If we played our best 17 and we lost it will beat up our confidence and we'll still finish 5th. It's all good really.

Roosters losing but us getting flogged potentially pushes us into 6th.

This is not going to be fun to watch.
It is if you go into kick off expecting us to get flogged by 50+.

Forget the jerseys they are wearing and look at it as an opposed training session by the Panthers against a reserve grade side. Have fun and enjoy watching some new faces that we might see more of next year.

These guys like Perham, Rodwell and Loizou could be part of our future and they are getting first hand experience against one of the best squads assembled in recent times... invaluable when there is nothing to lose.

If we lose we are likely to finish 6th with the score line being a blow out highly likely.

Haha

and to think i didnt go last weekend because i was sure we'd get hammered, and instead bought tickets to this game last week!

If we lose by less than 50 it will be a solid performance!

But i'm keen to see the boys challenged and what Perham can do.

It really means nothing.

I think we may have see Dyl and Waqa play if not for the suspensions hanging over their head with even the smallest charge. We have 7 players that have been fined twice now, so even a grade 1 is instant suspension, but once you hit the finals you get an extra fine before suspensions on grade 1s, so makes sense to not risk those boys.

The only players still running the gauntlet are Lussick and Hipgrave. Heaven help us though if we lose Lussick.. If we had another player i'd probably have rested him too

Take out the halfback we have a strongish starting 13.

I suspect ivan will play 18-21 surely he wouldn't risk his son. What's stopping a ray stone legally hammering his shoulder all night.

Fair point. I rate Rodwell from what I’ve seen, but haven’t seen the other new guys play.

I just hope they don’t get reamed too badly. Not much of a debut to remember for them.

So after all these years this is what we would look like at origin time if we had 10 origin players representing.

I actually hope the storm win just so penrith basically have nothing to play for while playing a full strength team. And try to preserve there physicality for the finals.

Looking at the comments, it’s fairly obvious that BA was going to be criticised whatever side was put out.

Been accused in the past of hammering his team into the finals and not taking that seriously enough. So he rests players who have hardly missed a game to freshen them up for the finals.

Then if the team gets beat heavily, bang , he’s an idiot for not picking his first choice. At least with no reserve grade comp, players who have not had many games and have trained continuously get experience , and the rest for the others should be of benefit.
