Obviously Hands could be injured. But I reckon it's because, Hands while hasn't missed many, is fairly "passive" in defence and doesn't really lead our line speed/tests the ruck. Lussick does a better job in this area.
Yeah, it’s Hands’ biggest weakness I think. I’ve never been able to get past his performance in the Melbourne game late in 2023, when he hung off the Storm attack (think it was Hughes) and just watched him stroll over for one of the softest tries I can recall with little more than a brush on him.

I’m up there with the biggest Lussick haters but I don’t mind the change. Hands has looked off so far this year, hasn’t been up to the pace of the game at all.
Our middle has struggled both games but I’d be looking at changing the 8 and 10 before the 9. Hopefully he brings some enthusiasm and line speed.
In saying that, I predict I’ll be on here a few minutes into the game complaining about his poor service, not even getting into position to make a tackle and his attempted barge overs
To be fair, little Ryley has a barge over in him too.

How so? He doesn’t back himself at all. He’s lucky he’s had 12-24 months of constant NRL footy - he wouldn’t have it in any other team. Samrani on debut last week played a better game than Russell has in his career
Agree, BUT Lomax took all his kicks. Will that happen this week ?

The only question you can ask is do these changes improve our team from last week significantly enough?

You'd have to say No.

Russell unlucky unless injured.
Storm, was just the Storm. Tigers we lacked energy/leadership, I reckon all 3 provide aspects of that more then the players dropped.

JAC - doesn't stop talking/doesnt lack confidence
Hawkins - not Volko's fault, but has just comeback from a long time off. Hawkins obviously not an elite half, probably leads the side better / not lacking in confidence to push side round
Lussick - more energy in the middle defensively

So yeah I think an improvement, but by how much is the question...

Interesting comment from Ryles in the presser Re: Matto

“Ryan won’t be in the team anytime soon with his injury”

Very interesting. Hard to know what to make of it, given he was named in the extended squad for this week, but I think not named in the NSW Cup team? In any event, sounds like he’s on the outer.

Lussick ? Wow. These type of SHIT players are why we are last. They’ve turned us into the tigers. The day we start thinking that the likes JOffa, Simrani are decent players, theN we deserve to come last.
Will disagree on Samrani.
Is a good player. Can play wing, centre or backrow. Him and Williams were our best by a country mile last week.
Like to see Papalii in the 17.
Play him and instead of Kautoga. Only problem is that Ryley Smith is already on the bench..
