Lets hope he brains it if it he plays there. I also hope people dont expect him to be Thurston in his first game in the position.

Can't see why he won't handle it, presto wasn't renowned for kicking or organizational skills.

I'd rather have a half that can break the line than one who can't.

Ummm, I would like a video link to these supposed brain snaps.
I remember seeing the guy take the ball up around...oh....say 600 times since his debut.
Of those 600, I can remember , ohhh...maybe 2 brain snaps. Kind of like the 6 that Fafita did last year, but not quite as bad.
I remember a few mistakes. Not taking the ball on the full, dropping a few bombs missign a few tackles etc. But the guys is a midget. he is an attacking ace that will take risks. As per their instructions. Risk takers will make mistakes.
Does anybody really think that Gardner has had more brain snaps than Thurston? Your in fairy land if you do.

I do recall gards having one absolute balltearer of a farkup.
He watched a ball roll in gaol...then the other team ran in and scored right under his nose.

ey ...I've done pretty much the same thing...but I was doing it for free.

Thanks Cardy.

To be honest, the only real shocker I remember Gards having is when he tried to kick the ball over the dead ball line from inside our twenty and it hit the up right, was regathered by the opposition and they scored. Other than that I mostly remember him trying to hit it up like someone 3 times his size or taking a lot of inside balls that werent ever on and getting smashed for it. but you cant fault the bloke for having a heart and getting belted.

He's selected for nsw cup Chewie.
You mean selected like TC.

Gards wont play half and I don't believe has trained there. My point is to trial him in NSW Cup. Presto had many reasons you wouldn't have picked him at half too. But it worked. The only surprise Morris will provide is if he does anything at all creative. Robbo is a foil for TC. Great competitor but not my NRL winning half. Morris is a pale imitation of Robbo.

Another less risky option would have been the forum favourite Brown wherever he plays at half or 6.

Morris is your typical no risk , good defender, seasoned pro , grinding style half. This has the makings of one hell of a boring game.if we lose we will have learned that Morris is worse option than when he played half for the Tigers and IDG is past whatever he had.

I will predict Penani wont play firsts this year. Any disbelievers?

Carney was just at my work and he says he should be sweet to play. Could just be wishful thinking but who knows.

Penani would have to be at best 4th choice in the halves, even 5th if we assume Brown is ahead of him so yes chances are slim. IMO he is much more ready for Nrl in the halves than brown (who should be a benchy if we pick him).

If Penani doesnt play firsts it will be because he has been leap frogged. I predict Nu Brown will be playing half for NSW cup & is being groomed for the role.
