As a fan and member I’d really like to know what the reasoning is behind Bryce/ja/oppa/Roswell/brown team selections are. But as a realist I know I’m asking too much.

I can excuse Jake being in the team - he's 19, and still growing, and learning.

But as for Makatoa...honest toiler, with no real growth; at 28, he won't improve much, if at all.

I just don't see why Arthur keeps playing Makatoa ahead of Rodwell - they perform similarly, but Rodwell has far more room for growth.

I have no idea why JA is in the team. Wouldn’t he be better off learning the trade in reserves.

Carty played reserves last week. I think you’ve been away to be honest. A shit Nathan Brown is better than the coaches son who’s not up to first grade standard.

After 3 games I called it. Makatoa is a plodder.

I think we've all had our views on JA. And now everyone is focusing on the negatives and not recognising any of his possitives. As much as I am not even confident he is an nrl player people raved about guys like Ash Taylor, Flanagan and a bunch of others.
And as much as I rate Burton as a superstar currently all he has got is a big boot. The rest of his game this season only been average.
Plenty of young halves kill it and then flop. While others like Fogarty grow.

I am not sure if you noticed while you were sitting at home and watched the carcrash unfold but poor old Jakey boy was copping it from the eels crowd when he was brought on with 5 mins to go literally because of his surname.

Right or wrong BA has basically thrown his son under the bus and the fans are using JA as an outlet to vent there frustration of BA.

Btw I wasn't part of the booing I was too pissed off with the overall team to waste my energy in the last 5 mins about that decision from BA as the game was done.

But how is that not damaging the kid. When the fans who pay there money and i doubt any are on this forum are booing him when he runs onto the field.
