Today did show me how far off the pace Lousi and Mateo are, as soon as they came on everything just seemed to stop.

Yeah, don't have much time for Lousi atm

Mateo is obviously a weapon, but seems a catch 22 at the moment, he needs more minutes to get a rhythm, but the back row of Mannering, Bukuya and Matulino offering a lot, and Sebastine looking good too

If Lilyman plays origin he'll be missed, any word on Rapira?

If you go purely on stats which typically is a crude and inaccurate way of doing things.... We finished around 80m behind the Dogs, less missed tackles, made 1 more line break, again the issues are errors 14 to 8 and again a gaping bend it over and cop this straight up the coal mine penalty count. I still am staggered with the nonsense Canterbury were getting away with. I lost count frankly of the amount of times Graham Tolman Reynolds Ennis and Finucane came up with a boot or with their hand on the ball as we were trying to play the ball. If we did that we would have had 15 penalties against us

All in all we were a pube off winning that and I'm confident the attitude is now right for us to maul a fair few opponents and rock up to the finals

It's not hate - I just can't believe some of the minties moments he's come up with in a short Warriors career.

That kick on the 3rd (I think) tackle 30M out was up there, there's been 5-6 this year... Slater, Inglis, Stewart and even Hayne wouldn't do that many dumb things in a season...

You expect one of the leading players of the ESL to not have such fundamental problems with his game. Like I said he puts in the work and is doing the work of an above average fullback, but he is no superstar at this rate.

They were gifted a few random penalties at crucial stages which looked like nothing as well.
Vossy and Halligan (while not biased) are clearly not Warriors fans, they pretended some things never happened.

On that note I am a bit over Halligans "Laomappy" as well.

i think we went in with the right game plan but execution killed it off.

We brought Mateo in early and for long minutes , which might have been effective had we even possession and teritory...alas that was not the case.

Mateo therefore brought a ball playing forward to shift the Dogs pack around when really with us being under the pump for so long , a forward in a grind hit up and offensive defence mold would have been far more effective.

Mateo was meant to shift them around that was neither here nor there without ball.

I actually thought Feleti interfered with the shape Tomkins and Johnson built V the Storm and Raiders....while Feleti's playing extra half......you're not getting early shifts to the edges....you're also watering down the Warriors best combination spine players 'touches' by a third.

I get where McFadden was aiming with TRex and Kasiano's soft hands, but as I say without a share of ball it was an impediment.

Charlie Gub in some ways would have been more useful in that type of game. Also...we gave the Dogs enough possession and territory to win the game several times over.

Massive effort from the Warriors this week to threaten late.

All in all I'm thrilled with where we are placed this year....in McFaddens time he has managed to make us look like an NRL team....there is nothing he can do about players dropping balls...there are so many inexperienced players in our squad that crumbling under pressure should be anticipated ( Laumape / Lousi ) it's not as if noobs dropping ball is a phenomena unique to the Warriors.

When your youngun's are being ground out like that , it's the responsibility of the seniors to soak that up in defence.....I thought we were exceptional in that regard.

Rather than dropping players wholesale, I believe the solution is for the coach to show maturity and composure now....this is when sticking by your players is relevant.....as opposed to the Elliot / Bluey era where players were supported in case the following week they find form.

Tomkins was fine today , i don't get the what I think is un reasonable expectation , no spine player thrives in that environment , cut the guy a break...having Martel out there killed the SJ + ST fluidity of previous weeks.....frankly not enough early ball.

I would like a world class hooker right about now, so that Second rowers like Martels ball playing and pass selection is superfluous.

Hi guys, thanks for the great game imo.

Youse defended really well and I think we'd have scored a few more against most teams today. It's onwards and upwards for you thois year.

Also, we were a prop short, I reckon.
Yeah if you compare having Locke out there at Dummy half to having Rapira's consisten solid game...It's a lot to play a Dogs team without.

Lousi lost with Injury before his minutes were up just adds the load on the other forwards .....I can't believe we made a late charge against them in those circumstance.

Whether Lousi played well or not , his loss places extra stress on the others versus the strongest forward pack in the NRL.

Cheers Packy.
I think your teams experience and thereby fifth tackle option taking proved a step too far for us today....we'll get there with McFadden though.

The other thing is world class players like Morris will win a game with one tackle....by comparison we're blooding baby centers and make shift three quarter line players like Ben Henry and Laumape.

I thought your wingers and Fb in the air were on another level....they should get the credit.....the packs were fairly close.....your three quarter line players don't usually get much love....they were the difference today.

Good Luck for the season

Most of us have cut Tomkins plenty of breaks, its round 10 now and the silly mistakes need to come out of his game. He wasn't terrible today but its not unreasonable to expect better things from a signing that big.

Friend was excellent today, not too many hookers in the NRL would have out-performed his effort.

We can all agree that Martel just doesn't seem to fit anywhere.

Hallingan not a warriors fan? Hahahaha.

Just today he wasn't though I didn't hear that commentary as I had channel 9. Gould was all in love with the bulldogs.

Big signings will have off games, the Warriors turning over ball never allowed their spine pairing to find rhythm, I don't think Tomkins is where we lost it.

I too thought Friend was outstanding, his tackle on Kasiano was the play of the match imo.

Still , the point I was making is that due to the things Friend is not strong in ( running....he was not up there with Luke ) and creating opportunities.

The other area Friend falls short , is his pass selection , he directed the attack far too often to the left today, that pass selection is what I meant by ' world class' hooker.

If you have someone like Smith / Luke/ Farrah...the team will go to that potent right side when the Ben Matulino playing Left backrower is not working ( too heavily marked ).

I thought the Dogs targeted three players really well, Matulino , Laumape and Hurrell.

That allowed Johnson to make those late plays in space.....oh had we a hooker that would have directed the attack clean and fast to Johnson on the right earlier....since he proved the one player too many for their gang tackling to shut down.

At times he'll throw out the Nah nee Laomappy, then he reverts to Lowmahpee, he can't even be consistent

You are right and many won't have noticed. Stanley, Brown, Morris and Perrett were great in the air.

No, he isn't. Is very quick to put the boot into us.

As is Voss, actually. Anybody else notice when the Dogs were awarded a scrum on our line early second half he let out a loud 'Yes!'

Only saw 60 minutes of the game. IMO, the refs were only reffing one side. Can't believe the Dogs got away with so much grub.

Also, Lousi back to NSW Cup, please.

Clearly Friend is not perfect, but you know what you get - in addition to the Kasiano tackle, and endless other tidying up, the ball to Matulino was excellent.

You say we need a world class hooker, well that would be nice, but we have a very good one and a promising one. The sell was we were not just getting a world class fullback, but someone who was in some debates regarded as highly as Slater (not to mention Inglis, Stewart, Hayne, Dougan).

That is clearly not the case, he is a good fullback, with a high workrate... but watching yesterday's game, he's kind of like Perrett with better passing (although Sam's ball to Eastwood was excellent) and some dumb plays added...

When you get big $$ and huge wraps, people look at you differently... sorry, but that's the way it is
