Conversely, you've chosen in your side to move nigh-on the best performed player this year, Kata, into a new position. Seems logical.

Iron Lion is a maniac, but I wouldn't be totally opposed to Kata moving to the wing

I would. There's all this talk about moving him for Konrad. Why? Because of Konrad's skinfolds? He's proven nothing. I'd like to see him get a go but both our centres are deserved of their spots. Kata was a struggler this year but has been great this year and has come on in leaps and bounds. It's his position. Why compromise that by moving him out where the demands change again and he might take 3-6 months to get a handle on that?

If we need a winger, there's a guy called David Fusitua who has all the ability and attributes to be great. He just needs to be coached....uhoh.

At the start of the season I had little to no confidence in either Kata or Hurrell when it came to defensive reads, but now I think Kata has a decided edge in that area and he's scoring tries regularly, to boot. I'm with you - Kata's been one of our best and it makes little sense to me to move him.

Kata swap positions with Lolohea?

Will enable Lolohea to use his ball playing skills a lot more. Kata will do absolutely fine on the wing playing like he is.

Konnies a popular bloke but unfortunately doesn't have the top 3 inches required for a Centre. ..

In fact, I think the guy is a bit mentally challenged.

He probably would but I just feel like Kata is doing everything we need in a centre, so why fix what isn't broken. Lolohea is playing in a position where he's probably the best fit for in our squad, but it's not the position he's the best fit for. That's what happens when you're young sometimes.

Our defense is still crap - we're conceding way too many points. However (and I haven't seen any stat to back this up), it seems to me like we're also conceding far fewer linebreaks on the edges than we were last year. Personally, I would try to keep the backline selections as consistent as possible for the foreseeable future, give or take injuries.

Would be keener on Lolohea playing centre.

But yeah- 'if it ain't broke' and all that.

1. RTS
2. Lolohea
3. Asyhford
4. Kata
5. Manu
6. Leuluai
7. Johnson
8. Matulino
9. Luke
10. Lillyman
11. Thompson
12. Hoffman
13. Mannering
14. Tevega
15. Lane (to swap with Thompson)
16. Vete
17. Sao

Robson out as he always was going to give way for Leuluai, Johnson on last chance, Lisone out
for rushing out of position to help Gubb rather than stop a try. Thompson was one of the best
early in the season and was always coming back, Lane to fire up against his old team.

So did people picking TL not watch the game? He was gassed after his line break, he can not go 80mins at the moment, I suspect 40mins max this week, and a good 4 weeks to 80mins.

cappy needs to start picking the best f**king team available. either star konnie at centre or put him in reserve grade. wtf is the theory of having him at interchange prop. that just seems like one of elliotts super choices. start matulino in the backrow rather than another prop eg vete and lisone at 13 for 16 minutes.

anyone know whats happening with lillyman on report

He will continue his current course, I think - my only conclusion is he's banking on some easy wins during the origin period, and the Eels being docked points...

Shit, if Brad Arthur walks maybe we should grab him - he seems a good bloke, and given a decent squad he's immediately producing a consistent winning team (no 'combinations take time' rhetoric needed there - nor at other clubs, actually)

So if the theory is combinations take time.......haven't SJ, RTS and Luke all been in Kiwis teams together over last 2-3 years???

Yeah - and doubt that Foran, Norman, Gordon and Peats have played together, plus Peats got hurt...

Also, with all the talk about McFadden (which I agree with), we have the 3rd worst defence and have had a pretty gentle draw - Morgan must have some questions to answer...

Players have to be accountable too though, the whole thing is shit house and will be salvaged to some degree by the origin period

That's why I think he should get a couple of weeks in RG, not for his skill set but rather match fitness.

Everyones picking Lane (I hope to see him too)
But lets not forget about RFM.

What an interesting scenario, a player swap (firstly, thats interesting on its own!), and then having both players debut against each other
:pray::pray: make it happen!
